Giddens Sent To Maine
Giddens, the only eligible player on the Celtics roster yet to get D-League time, hasn’t been seeing much action with the big club. He’s been averaging 4.7 minutes per game, and only reached double digits in time twice during the regular season.
With Tony Allen healthy, K.G. on the mend and Bill Walker taking over the spot minutes that used to belong to Giddens, there’s not a huge need for J.R. in Boston. It would be good to get Giddens more playing time now via the D-League, so that he can be more ready to go in Boston heading towards the end of the season. It also fits with the schedule, since the Red Claws are visiting the Springfield Armor tonight; Giddens is expected to be available for that game.
How long Giddens is in Maine may depend on a variety of factors, but he’ll be a welcome addition to the Red Claws.
