One of the most underrated reasons for the Celtics’ recent swoon is the absence of Marquis Daniels.  People have rarely talked about how his absense has hurt the Green team. 

But the C’s bench, which once was one of its greatest strengths, was just outscored 43-12 by Detroit’s bench.  Enough said.  The Celtics need Kevin Garnett, but they really need Daniels to get healthy too.

They could use his versatitility, steady hand and defensive prowess.  They could use his unselfish play, slashing ability and, well, his hair-do. 

It looks like it won’t be too much longer before Marquis will be able to return.  According to his own Twitter account, Daniels’ cast is off and he’s getting closer and closer to getting back.

Don’t rush back, Marquis.  But the Celtics could really use you whenever you’re ready.  With the cast off, it sounds like that day will soon come.
