Giddens returns after (very) brief layoff

Only one day after a sprained ankle took him out of the Maine Red Claws’ narrow win against the Bakersfield Jam, J.R. Giddens returned to action to help the Claws beat the Utah Flash.
Giddens, who played for Utah at times last season, scored 22 points on 8-9 shooting to help lead the 107-84 victory. With such a performance, it would seem that the injury was nothing more than a slight tweak.
Despite the brief scare involved with his ankle, Giddens has played efficient basketball for Maine, scoring over 20 points in every game but Bakersfield, when he was forced to the sidelines in the first quarter.
