Highlight Reel: Greg Anthony, meet Rodney Dobard

Anyone know who the hell Rodney Dobard is?

Me neither. But after seeing him destroy Greg Anthony’s night with this earth-shattering dunk, I did a little research.

He was a 6’9″, 210-lb. power forward from Florida St. known for throwing down alley-oops. Playing on teams that featured Bobby Sura, Sam Cassell, and Charlie Ward, Dobard was a force in the middle, still owning the Seminoles’ single-season and career records for blocked shots (if I’m not mistaken). From what I can tell, the Miami Heat signed him but he never played a single NBA game.

But none of that is why I care about him. The only reason I care about Dobard is because YouTube can now glorify this highlight for the rest of eternity. Enjoy it, and send your condolences out to Anthony. I know he had a decent NBA career, and a solid run of broadcasting, but his feelings are probably still pretty hurt from that monster dunk.

Sadly, the dunk was called a charge. I always did hate referees.
