J.R. Giddens recalled to have surgery

J.R. Giddens has been recalled to the Boston Celtics in order to have surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to ESPNBoston’s Chris Forsberg.

Celtics guard J.R. Giddens, who suffered a small tear in the meniscus in his left knee while on assignment with the Maine Red Claws, was recalled in a procedural move that will allow the second-year guard to have surgery next week.

Celtics-Hawks Game Preview

Normally, I put a lot of thought and effort into my game previews. Today, however I’ve already missed class and work because I’m sick. Sickness can’t stop me from writing the preview, but it’s going to be a damn brief one. My apologies. Without further ado, three keys to tonight’s big game in Atlanta.

Kevin Garnett’s brightest days are behind him

Kevin, we can see you hobbling on the court.  We know you’re favoring your leg.  Your wincing and limping is enough for us to know that something ain’t right.  And the decline in your play, by itself, points to you being injured.

We remember what you used to be like when you were healthy, and we can see that you aren’t quite there.

Highlight Reel: Lebron James in ‘layup’ lines

Lebron James told everybody he was going to participate in the dunk contest.  Now, he’s not.

But he still puts on a hell of a show for the fans in pregame layup lines.

I would write more, but I don’t need to.  Just watch and be mesmerized by McDonalds’ newest spokesman.

Celtics need an attitude check

It’s been the same shit all season.  Focus.  Age.  Missed opportunities.

To watch the Celtics play, you’d think it’s harder to stitch together 48 minutes of good play than it is to run a marathon in under two hours.  A team that once treated even meaningless November games like the NBA championship, now treats big games against rivals like preseason exhibitions.

When, oh when, did that change occur? Read more »

Not So Fast: Celtics stunned 96-94

With the Boston Celtics ahead 66-51 in the third quarter, I texted my brother,” All we needed was KG. We’re back.”

“I know. They’re back,” Jay responded.
