Paul Pierce briefly left Monday’s game with 2:01 left in the first period after being landed on by Caron Butler during a scramble for the ball. Pierce bruised his left foot and will receive X-rays Wednesday in Boston.

Pierce, speaking to Comcast SportsNet immediately after the game, sounded optimistic about his chances of playing against the Heat on Wednesday.

“I think it’s not going to be too bad,” Pierce said. “I would have known by now. I have a really good sense of my body and usually how I feel (with) injuries, so I think it will be all right.”
