Glen Davis plays… ultimate frisbee?

When I think of Glen Davis, I think of food, blubber, 4 a.m. fights, and tears caused by Kevin Garnett.

In all seriousness, though, there is one thing I definitely don’t think about when Glen Davis comes to mind:

Ultimate frisbee.

But the 6’9″ power forward, who has stated his desire to play in the NFL once he makes an NBA All-Star team, told the Boston Globe he plays soccer and ultimate frisbee in the off-season.  Apparently, he’s even pretty good at soccer.

“I could have played football, but I loved basketball more,’’ Davis said. “Now, my offseason sports are soccer and ultimate Frisbee. They can help make me a better player, plus they help out for conditioning.’’

Davis has staked a claim as the Celtics’ most prolific scorer in pickup soccer games. Despite not having played soccer as a youngster, Davis has developed a feel for the game, the combination of his agility, surprising quick feet, and ability to shield the ball making him difficult to defend.

For those of you unfamiliar with euphemisms, the ‘ability to shield the ball making him difficult to defend’ simply means he’s fat enough that people can’t reach the ball around his oversized body.

But don’t tease him about that…

Davis also practices MMA.

Could you please translate your site into Italian since I’m not very comfortable reading it in English? I’m getting tired of using Google Translate all the time, there is a little WP plugin called like global translator which will translate all your posts automatically- this would make reading posts on your great blog even more enjoyable. Cheers dude, Kaylee Baroody!

Michael Moore is right in terms of what he is saying. Obama needs to get his actions through, he is the boss, and his ideas WILL work. Health Care like Obama’s works well most places in the world where similar legislation is performed. People need to stop bashing on Obama, he is an intelligent man and will be great for this country if bipartisanship is reached.
