Interesting nugget on Nate Robinson
We all knew Nate was unhappy in New York, especially with Coach Mike D’Antoni. How could a productive player be happy while getting DNP-CD’s for 14 straight games?
But things had gotten especially bad lately, which is part of the reason the Knicks are so eager to get rid of Robinson.
Via the New York Post:
We’re going to be fair to people, too,” D’Antoni said. “We want to play young guys and stuff. But we wouldn’t be opposed to helping people out who are here on one-year deals.”
Sources say Robinson is tired of D’Antoni’s eye rolls and waving of the arms whenever Robinson makes a mistake. D’Antoni does not act like that when Chris Duhon messes up.
Robinson and D’Antoni had their final dustup on the bench vs. Sacramento before the All-Star break with Robinson dropping the F-Bomb, The Post reported.
Dropping the F-bomb. This is some more fuel to the fire for people who think Nate’s a headcase and not worth the bad locker room presence.
But wouldn’t you be unhappy, too, if you were far better than Chris Duhon and yet still received all those DNP’s?
Things will probably be a little different when Robinson is watched over by the nurturing eyes of Doc Rivers, knowing full well he doesn’t deserve to start over Rajon Rondo.
