Celtics continue West Coast road trip
In a quick turnaround from last night’s Lakers game, Boston plays the Portland Trailblazers (32-24) tonight at 10:15 ET. Boston hung on to defeat the L.A. Lakers 87-86, and a win tonight against Portland would give them an impressive 3-0 start on the road trip, with Denver to come on Sunday.Portland will be integrating Marcus Camby into the lineup, who has his Trailblazer debut tonight. Camby was traded from the L.A. Clippers to the Blazers for Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw, and $1.5 million. Camby is a great defensive center, averaging 12.1 rpg and about 2 bpg. He will try to fill in for injured centers Greg Oden and Joel Pryzbilla.
Boston’s newest acquisitions, Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry, will not play, in all likelihood. They are expected to play on Sunday against the Denver Nuggets. Boston will also be without reserve guard, Tony Allen, who injured himself in last night’s Lakers game and did not return.
Brandon Roy will play tonight, despite a nagging injury. Roy scored only 4 points in Portland’s most recent game with the L.A. Clippers. Jerryd Bayless, Roy’s back-up, played exceptionally well last time these two teams met however, totalling 12 points and 4 assists in only 20 minutes.
