The Morning Walkthrough: Older, but wiser
The Celtics have gotten rid of their morning walkthrough, but that doesn’t mean we have to. Here are a few Celtics links, and maybe even an NBA link or two, to help wake you up and get you focused for the day.
A. Sherrod Blakely, CSNNE- “He looks like a player who is relying more on his high basketball I.Q., than to out-jump or out-run players as often as he used to. There have been times when Garnett will have the ball and rely on his footwork to free himself up to score as opposed to trying to beat a player off the dribble.
‘That’s just being a veteran, figuring out what you can do to help your team win,’ Rasheed Wallace told CSNNE.com. ‘None of us are getting any younger. But shoot, that don’t mean we can’t still hoop!’”
Gary Washburn, Boston Globe- “’We’re a competitive team, and I’m not different than anyone else on this team from being that,’’ Garnett said. ‘I listen to what Doc says. If Doc says run through a wall headfirst, in my mind I am going to question it, but I’m going to do it. But as far as confidence and as a team collectively, that has to stay [strong]. As much as we preach it and as much as we talk about it, saying it is one thing but actions are another. It’s starting to come so we have to continue to preach it to each other until we’re blue in the face.’’
Steve Bulpett, Boston Herald- “’It looks like we’re starting to surface,’ said Ray Allen. ‘We’re starting to come back to the reality of who we think we are. But every night is a new challenge. You never just show up and it appears. That’s the one thing we always have to remember.’”
B. Paul, Hardwood Houdini- “Tonight Eddie House stepped onto the “other” Garden floor for the first time as a member of the home team. In his debut Eddie logged a season high 36 minutes and dropped in a season high 24 points on 8-14 shooting (4-8 from 3pt). He also hit a shot with 30.7 seconds left in overtime that put the Knicks up by one, the Knicks did however go on to lose… The one difference between the Knicks and the Celtics is the way the two teams play the game, the way the Knicks play allows a guy like Eddie House to get multiple shots off from deep. This proved to be huge tonight as Eddie had one of his best games in recent memory.”
