Rajon Rondo, guard Lebron? Doc’s kidding, right?
But to say Rajon Rondo might defend Lebron at points during tonight’s game? (Via the Boston Herald)
“We may have no choice,” Rivers said of mixing and matching players against James. “(Rajon) Rondo may have to guard LeBron, seriously. But my basketball knowledge says that it’s not easy to guard him on any night, anyway.”
In the meantime, the Celtics are working on another record injury season.
“He looked terrible today, so we sent Marquis home,” Rivers said. “We’ll see tomorrow, and if not, then we’ll figure it out. (Pierce) most likely will not play tomorrow, and then we’ll evaluate it day-to-day. I didn’t want to take a chance of getting his thumb hit at all today in practice. We’ll just wait. We have (tonight’s game), Saturday (against the Nets) and then the two-day break.
I’ve got to think Rivers was joking. But he qualified it with “seriously.”
Rondo couldn’t possibly guard Lebron. But neither could anybody else if Daniels and Pierce miss the game.
Rondo? Doc? Tell me it’s a joke, please.
