Rajon Rondo was fed up last night. While he was getting busy shooting 2-7 from the field and accumulating only 6 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds, Deron Williams more or less did whatever he wanted to. Williams is a tough cover for Rondo, mostly because he outweighs him by at least 30 or 35 pounds, and had his way with Rajon to the tune of 22 points and 11 dimes.
Rondo’s frustration peaked when Williams treated him like Adrian Peterson would a cornerback, lowering the shoulder and plowing Rondo on his way to the hoop. But Paul Pierce and Garnett weren’t going to see Rondo’s temper get the best of him.
I wonder what they told Rajon. Maybe it was, “Damn, boy, he just truck-sticked the hell out of you.”
Whatever it was, they weren’t going to let Rondo get a technical. Chalk one up for the Big Three’s veteran leadership.
Now, if only they could exert the same fatherly role over Rasheed and Perk.
