Paul Pierce will be eligible to opt out of his contract following this season. When speaking to WEEI about his future, Pierce was noncommittal but declared his love for Boston.
“It’s something I haven’t given too much thought about,” he said. “At one point in my career I thought it would be fun to test the free agent market and see what’s out there but I love the Boston Celtics. I love what they have been able to do for me throughout my career and I’ve said it all along this is where I want to retire. I couldn’t imagine myself playing anywhere else.”
At the same time, Pierce hasn’t ruled out testing free agency.
“As far as testing the free agent market I really don’t know,” he explained. “I really haven’t put any thought into it.”
But your fans have, Paul. Don’t go anywhere. You are a Celtic, and have a chance to do something special by playing for only one team your entire career. Don’t screw it all up by signing somewhere else.
