Certain starters likely to rest tonight

Doc Rivers will likely rest some of his players tonight, he told CSNNE. While Doc said he would wait until game time to make a final decision, he continued to say that he’s pretty sure “I know a couple guys who will definitely be sitting [tonight].”

Rivers said he contemplated sitting some starters last night, but decided against it. (Boston Herald)

“(Tonight) may be a different issue with a lot of guys, but (last night) all of them wanted to play. They just thought it would be too much time off. They want to have a better rhythm playing games, which I agree with.

“We are an older team. I think rest is important. We have to be as fresh as possible.”

Rest is good, normally, but I dread that the Celtics aren’t ready for the playoffs. Not that one game against Milwaukee could change that, I guess.

Let’s just hope 1) The Celtics are in possession of their on-off switch, and 2) It still has the capacity to be turned all the way up.
