Quentin Richardson explains actress comment

Shut up, Quentin. For your own good.

After Quentin Richardson took an elbow to the mug from Kevin Garnett, he had this to say about Garnett and Paul Pierce, who was lying down in pain when the whole fracas occurred. (ESPNBoston)

“I was trying to get over there to take the ball out of bounds and [Garnett] started to talk to me, so I talked back,” Richardson said. “I don’t have any business talking to him; he was on the ground crying. I don’t know what was going on — two actresses over there, that’s what they are.

“I just get surprised by people’s actions when I know them better than that. They’re not those characters they portray. They’re not who they say they are, Garnett and Pierce — they’re good basketball players, and that’s about it.”

Richardson then explained the actresses comment to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

“All I will say is people act one way in NBA environments where things can be restrained and you’re going to be penalized, fined and da-da-da-da-da-da,” Richardson said. “Stuff is going to come to a screeching halt as soon as it happens anyway.

“And you know, you put some people in different environments, they want to do the same thing. And those two pretty much know that. They’ve been in different environments and didn’t act the same way. You know, that’s why I call them actresses.”

It sure seems like Richardson is talking about getting into altercations away from the court, where no referees and league office can keep a person from getting hurt… or worse.

All I’ve got to say is, shut up Q.  You sound like an idiot, really.  You had a little scuffle on a basketball court, and you have to puff out your chest and act like you’re the world’s toughest man.  Just take your sore cheek and try to get ready for Game Two.

As for me, Q would call me an actress.  I wouldn’t say to his face what I’m writing here.  Why wouldn’t I?  Mostly because his words speak of a far more sinister side of Quentin Richardson, one that I wouldn’t want to mess with.  One that he thinks is tough and manly, but is really just immature and moronic.

    Wow, Quentin. What an unbelievable bastard. So what Q, you cant get it done on the court, so you want to do what? Meet Paul and Kevin in an alley somewhere, maybe with your “boys” in tow, to show them what a real fight is? Maybe take out your heater, take a couple shots? What an degenerate thug. Paul Pierce is a man, a beloved man, something Q will never be, no matter how much chrome he wants to whip around.
    Nobody in Boston will EVER question Pauls toughness and will.
    on the other hand, Q will probably die unloved, broke, in the gutter.

      LOL. Harsh words for Q. He “will probably die unloved, broke, in the gutter.” No matter how he dies, he will never be Paul Pierce, nor Kevin Garnett.

    Celtics fans have got to be giving special thanks for Quentin Richardson. If there was any chance that Pierce and Garnett—who, let’s be honest, may be old, but are still for short periods two of the best players around, in fact two of the best ever—were not motivated or were looking past Miami, Mr. Richardson has single-handedly caused their focus to be on stuffing the Heat back down into Florida.

    I only saw Bill Russell in the last year or two of his career, but as I remember from reading about it, he wouldn’t play a good part of the season, he’d just coach the other guys; all they had to do was make the playoffs. Then in the playoffs Russell would start playing hard, and they’d win the championship…

      Maybe it will light a fire, but losing KG for game two hurts.

    Q is right. Nobody even touched pierce and he falls down next to the miami bench like a little ho. Please. You gits up in boston need to get real and stop being so biased, Pierce has pulled this same stunt before where he falls down like he suffered a season ending injury and is back the next series. Boston is a city full of a bunch of drunk idiots who don’t know shit.

      Drunk, yes. Idiots, no. Has Pierce had a history of exaggerating injuries? Yes. Does that mean Quentin Richardson should stand over him and talk shit while Pierce is down? Absolutely not. As KG said, Q was classless.

    If Pierce would have been taken back for an MRI or some other test and was actually seriously injured then I would agree with Q being “classless” but I can’t respect someone who is not even man enough to walk himself over to his own bench after supposably hurting his freakin shoulder. No where near his lower extrmities. This is a grown man we are talking about here, not a little kid.

      So if someone is hurt, it’s completely classy to stand over him and talk shit? You’re just speaking ignorantly.

          I did, and you can respect Pierce or you can think he’s soft. I could care less what you think of him. But Q is classless, regardless of how hurt Pierce was. You don’t stand over someone on the ground in pain — no matter how much pain it is — and start talking shit.

          Then, Q speaks as if he wants to fight Pierce or Garnett — or worse. Just shut up, Q, and play basketball.

    @Chuck Dupree

    You’re talking about the 69 Celtics, which was the year Russell was player/coach, and they won 48? games (could be off on that number, it was less than this years team I’m sure though) but still wont the championship.

    The parallels have been made often between that team and the current Celtics.

    @Boston Sucks

    You’re argument is useless dribble, and insulting Boston fans adds nothing to this thread. You’ve proven nothing but how utterly and completely ignorant you are.

    About Q, he’s trash, no question about it. For a guy who was traded 4 times this off season, you’d think he’d know his role better. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are first ballot hall of famers, Pierce at least, will certainly have has number retired with the Celtics, among 24 other hall of fame guys.

    Q, will bounce around on a minimum contact until teams get tired of him and he’s out of the league. He’s nothing but a trash talking wannabe.

    Pierce may over-react and injuries sometimes, but to say “he wasn’t hit” doesn’t mean anything. With a pinched nerve, you don’t have to get hit, just move in the right way and it can sting you. Anyone who’s ever pinched a nerve when they were sleeping, and turned their head just right the next day knows what I’m talking about.

    It’s sad watching Pierce play. Sure, he is one of the best to play the game, but he is also one of the best actresses to play the game. And now he has a supporting actress in Rondo.

    In today’s game (4/25), in the 2nd quarter, Rondo went for a fast break layup and barely got hit in the air and he made sure he landed as hard as possible to make it look like he is hurt. Watch it in slow motion. It’s a joke. Then he just laid there on the court acting as if he just suffered a game ending injury.. The trainers came out, the whole team…and WHAT DO YOU KNOW!??! He’s back up and playing at full speed!! JUST like Pierce has done so many times. It’s really sad to watch.

    How come this seems to only happen with the Celtics? I don’t recall seeing any other player on any other team act like this.

    Don’t even get me started on Garnett. He’s the biggest douche bag in the NBA. So damn full of himself, always talking shit and taunting and just a complete dick. See for yourself..Google or you tube his taunting of Jerryd Bayless and Jose Calderon or his cheap shots on Marco Belinelli and Zaza Pachulia. Funny how he mostly does it to players that are a lot smaller than he is..

    His antics are old and classless. What a douche bag.
