Tony Allen’s afraid of the lockout
“I didn’t have anything to do [during the All-Star break], nowhere to go, and I didn’t want to spend any money because they said there was a lockout coming up. I’ve been waiting a long time. I just believe in God, everything happens for a reason.’’
Apparently, the $2.5 million Allen made this season won’t be enough to tide him over during the potential lockout.
Allen needn’t worry. After his best season in the NBA, including a magnificent two-way performance last night, TA is due for a nice payday when he hits free agency this summer… even if some of that contract is lost to a lockout. But I like Allen’s frugal mindframe: he seems to have learned from the harsh lessons of a fellow Chicagoan who played for the Celtics a few years back.
