Highlight Reel: Which Celtic will start Game Two at power forward?

I’m combining a news post and the Highlight Reel of the Day because, frankly, I have no time left to do two separate ones.  I’ve got an intramural basketball game at 6:00, and it’s the first game of the playoffs.  I will be wearing my Larry Bird Indiana St. jersey, so hopefully I won’t shame the Legend’s name.

There are two options for tomorrow night’s starting power forward spot: Rasheed Wallace and Glen Davis.  Doc Rivers maintains he has yet to choose Kevin Garnett’s replacement, and then gives a rundown of the two players. (ESPNBoston)

“I don’t know yet, we used three or four or five guys,” said Rivers, setting up his punchline. “So Oliver [Lafayette] right now might be the guy.” [...]

“They’re completely different players,” said Rivers. “Rasheed gives us more size, he gives us a better post player, between him and Baby. And he spreads the floor. Baby gives you energy and Baby moves his feet a little better in the [Michael] Beasley matchup. They are so completely different, that’s what makes this decision so difficult. It would be easy if they were similar, you’d just say, ‘Him, we’ll start him.’ But they’re not, so it’s tough.”

While Rivers isn’t sure who will start, Rajon Rondo believes it will be Davis.  Part of that belief is likely because Davis played with the starting unit at practice. Another part could be that Davis played a terrific second half against Miami in Game One.

Anyway, here are the highlights Davis and Wallace used to try to woo Rivers into letting them start. I’m sure Darko Milicic, a man of many embarrassments, never had a larger disappointment than being slammed on by Davis.  And Rasheed’s dunk?  Look at how far he takes off from.  If he tried that now, he might airball the dunk by about five feet.

P.S. If either of these players duplicates these dunks tomorrow, I’ll buy every reader a ticket to Disney World.
