Doc Rivers denies Chicago Bulls rumor

Chicago? Child, please.
Yesterday, it seemed like everyone was convinced that Lebron James and John Calipari were a package deal. Now, the Doc Rivers/Lebron to Chicago rumor is the latest speculation. Terence Moore of NBA Fanhouse said “a mighty whisper in a breeze from the Windy City” told him Doc Rivers would be coaching Lebron in Chicago next year.
He’s going to the Chicago Bulls.
Trust me.
Oh, and here’s another thing: When LeBron James switches his dribbling home around the Great Lakes from Erie to Michigan, he’ll bring his own coach with him.
It’ll be Doc Rivers.
Now you can move on with the rest of your lives.
Moore cites many reasons, including that Rivers has yet to sign a contract extension despite Danny Ainge “hounding him” to, Lebron has always like Rivers’ coaching style, and Rivers has spoken of a potential retirement after this season.
It all sounds like throwing a lot of crap against the wall. Rivers doesn’t seem like the type of guy to lie, mislead us, or leave for no reason (he’s no Larry Brown), and — even during his retirement talk — Rivers has maintained he would either coach in Boston next season or take a year off. And I believe him.
Oh yeah, and you know what? “A mighty whisper in a breeze” told me to discard this rumor. My might whisperer actually has a name though: Doc Rivers.
“It’s the first time I’ve heard it, but no,” Rivers told WEEI.com in regards to the rumor. “That’s silly.”
