I can’t tell whether the line Kevin Garnett spoke after last night’s game was trash talk or not. (Boston Herald)
“We are playing the second-best team in the East,” Kevin Garnett said. “We are doing it with guts and pure grit. We are playing defense for 48 minutes. We are playing aggressive. Doc is encouraging us to go to the basket and attack Dwight and the rim. I think we are doing a good job of it.”
“We are playing the second-best team in the East.”
Is Garnett just saying the C’s are playing the second seed? Because that’s not trash talk, that’s just a fact.
But if Garnett’s insinuating that the Celtics are the best team, that’s some bulletin-board material right there.
No matter what he meant to say, the truth of the matter is that Garnett’s right. The Orlando Magic are, at best, the second-best team in the East.
