Gasol talks crap (slash the truth) about KG

Gasol has been yapping about the Celtics all season.
A day after playing the toughest game he’s ever played, Pau Gasol decided to talk a little smack about Kevin Garnett. Unfortunately for the Celtics, what Gasol said was also true. (ESPN Boston)
“On Kevin’s part, he’s also lost some explosiveness,” said Gasol. “He’s more of a jump shooter now you could say, comes off the lane. Before he had a really, really quick first step and was getting to the lane and he was more aggressive then. Time passes and we all suffer it one way or another, but he’s still a terrific player, a terrific competitor, and he’s going to bring everything he’s got. You can count on that.”
This isn’t the first time Gasol has talked crap about the Celtics this season. Earlier this season, when asked the difference between this year’s Celtics and the 2008 Celtics, Pau said, “Three years older and three years later.”
Never mind that Pau’s terrible at math, he’s also becoming a real agitator. Too bad he’s gotten so damn good — it always sucks when you hate someone who’s really good. Oh well, I guess it will just be more fun to topple him now that he thinks he’s all big and bad.
KG, for his part, declined comment on Pau’s chatter. I can only imagine how worked up KG is already getting for Game 2.

He just had one bad game. The Celtics can live with KG not scoring too much — they just need him to defend Gasol and box the hell out. KG’s done a great job defensively on everyone he’s had to guard, so I’d expect a much better effort next game.

Typical press to take it out of context to get a reaction. This is his entire comment
“So I could say that I’m a more mature player and more effective now than I was before I was athletic, lanky. I had more explosiveness than I have now, but I was weaker, also, and I wasn’t accustomed to the physicality of the league and the amount of games that are played. But little by little I’ve gotten better, and I’ve grown to be the player that I am today.
And also on Kevin’s part he’s also lost some explosiveness. He’s more of a jump shooter now you could say, comes off the lane. Before he had a really, really quick first step and was getting to the lane and he was more aggressive then. Time passes and we all suffer it one way or another, but he’s still a terrific player, a terrific competitor, and he’s going to bring everything he’s got. You can count on that.”
