Does Doc really have hope Sheed’s tech will be rescinded?
Doc, don’t get your hopes up. Methinks this one is a losing battle.
“I hope they rescind that one because I thought he did a dance but he ran away,’’ said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. “I didn’t think he said anything. The dance was funny, and so I could see it, but I don’t know. I just wish they hadn’t given it to him. It is a concern.’’
The dance was funny. I’m dying laughing right now, but this dance was the furthest thing from funny when it originally happened. I was ready to kill Sheed for this T, and the way he was yelling at the ref I was pretty damn sure he was going to get another one too. Talk about an implosion at the exact wrong time. The only funny part was that Sheed got that mad when it looked like he pretty clearly smacked Kobe across the arm. And that Mike Breen, for some reason unbeknown to me, didn’t even realize Sheed had been called for a foul… but you can hear the PA guy announce Sheed’s foul mere seconds before Breen said, “What is he upset about? They didn’t even call a foul on him.”
By the way, I don’t think there’s any chance this technical foul gets rescinded. Perk behaved in a similar fashion in Game 5 of the Orlando series and saw his tech taken away, but Rasheed was far, far more animated than Perk was. Hell, I think Sheed’s scream might still be echoing off the Garden walls.
P. S. – Sheed and Perk both have six technicals now. Next one and they’re suspended. Stay cool, fellas. Because you know Kobe is going to keep yapping at Perk like he did yesterday to try to get under Perk’s skin, and now he’ll probably be yapping at Sheed too.
P. P. S. – Sheed’s technical wasn’t the only tech Doc talked about last night. He had this joke to say about Nate’s ‘T’: “Even Nate, that was one I didn’t like more than Rasheed’s. We don’t have to be tough, especially at whatever height you are.” Zing.
