Fan blog: Maybe we got lucky with Luke Harangody

Harangody had 23 points in the summer league opener.

I just watched our first summer league game and it was very Celtic-like – they blew a double digit lead. Was that technically the Celtics 15th time of the season they did that, or the first time of the 2011 season? Either way, I don’t care.

What I do care about was the feel for the game Luke Harangody seems to have. I realize the scouts know way more than I do when judging a rookie in a summer league game. I can see all the negative stuff they point out about this kid: His foot work, his speed, his athletic ability, his length – I can go on and on. I understand it all and realize the experts are most likely right about this kid, but at some point you have to admit: He seemed to be the best player on floor today. He seems to be the best player on the floor in almost every game he’s ever played. Take that and the fact that Danny Ainge drafted him, maybe there’s something to this kid.

Maybe we got lucky, just maybe this kid can really play at any level. Sometimes it just comes down to one thing, can you play? All else aside, can you go out on the floor at any level and play with the other nine guys on the floor? I think Harangody might surprise us. At least he looks good every time he plays.

As for all the guys 6-11 and over that I saw in green today? SHEED, Please come back!!

This guy can play as I watched a lot of Big East hoops with SU my fav. Was always afraid he would get 25/15 per. vs SU. Just hope he shows defensive effort, rebounding, and the shooting ability out to the 3 line. Nice debut.

P.S. He reminds me of Leon (bad move letting him leave) but a much better outside shooter, as his desire drives his effort equaling positive results game after game.

The man can score. If he can somehow figure out a way to stop people, he’ll find his way onto the Celtics bench.

Since the Rondo deal, I refuse to doubt anything that Danny Ainge does anymore.

That Rondo deal was an absolute heist.
