Ray Allen re-signs with Boston Celtics
Ray Allen and the Boston Celtics have agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal. Wait a second, I’m doing jumping jacks…
Okay, I’m back. Lebron, please sign in Miami. I can’t wait to beat the piss out of the super-team next playoffs. Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. But this is wonderful, spectacular, marvelous news.
P.S. – My love letters were two-for-two this offseason. You can thank me now or later.

Great news. Good and fair deal. Celtics are gearing up for #18 with a rematch with the Lakers. Now go get some more help! Loyalty does mean something in that locker room!!! Go Cs….

Eh, I guess this is the best that could be done considering we really couldn’t spend the cash on anyone else. Hopefully Rondo + the Big 3 have something left in the tank. O’Neal should help some too once he signs.

I’m surprised that people are giving this a semi warm reception. Perhaps I am missing something. From my perspective O’neal has been a pretty good producer for years. He is still only 31 years old and his production has been roughly the same since he was 27 years old so no real decline in his game (averaging 13 ppg 7 rpg). Sure, he averaged 20 a game in Indiana, but he was THE man in that system and was not THE man in Miami. The C’s don’t need him to be the man. The C’s need 2-25 minutes off the bench once Perk gets healthy. Great pick up in my opinion. I hope the Cs are not done.

I’m extremely excited now.
We got Paul and Ray at relatively good deals (Pauls is debatable, but that’s ok, it’s The Truth, he’s earned it) JO looks to be coming over soon, for a PIECE of the mid level. So we still have parts of the mid level, Sheed’s contract, and the possibility of signing Nate/TA, plus any Vet mins that might come over (Tmac?)
Things are looking up.

I don’t know about T-Mac at this point, but everything else you wrote has me smiling.

I’d take a flier on him for the vet min, if he’s willing to come off the bench. I think Tmac can still play, and he’d great a great backup for Paul for 15-20 minutes a night.
He can still score, and if they can teach him to play defense (ala how they taught Ray, Nate, and every player who has come into the Boston system) he could be a steal at the 1.3 million they’d have to pay him on a minimum deal.
Obviously if he holds out for anything more, forget it.
