Highlight Reel: “The Decision”

No matter what you think of “The Decision,” Lebron James’ free agency is pretty important to the NBA’s future. Reports are that he’s going to Miami, he already planned a party in Miami and that he, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will lead a super-team for at least the next few years.

I just don’t see how Lebron can do it. If Lebron James has a heart, any kind of heart, he could never stab Cleveland in the back by announcing on national television that he decided to leave his home town for greener pastures. That would be devastating to the entire city. But let’s say everyone thinks he’s going to tear Cleveland apart and bounce to Miami, then he goes on ESPN and announces otherwise. He’d forever be a local hero and his reputation would be somewhat saved in the eye of the public. He’d still be an egotistical asshole, but at least he’d be a loyal egotistical asshole.

Lebron back to Cleveland. You heard it here first.

P.S. – I’m headed to Boston tonight so I won’t be able to post any reaction to Lebron’s choice. So when Lebron goes against my prediction and tells the world he decided to go to Boston for the veteran’s minimum, my thoughts won’t be posted until tomorrow. Let’s just say I wouldn’t mind that.
