Celtics “unable to gauge Morrison’s skills” during workout

After watching Adam Morrison work out, the Celtics were “unable to gauge Morrison’s skills” because he did not participate in a 5-on-5 workout. (Boston Globe)

The Celtics are being very open minded when it comes to their roster next season and some team officials spent Tuesday watching a workout by former third overall pick Adam Morrison, who spent the past two seasons winning two NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers while on their bench.

Morrison is a free agent and looking for work, and the Celtics are seeking a shooting specialist to bring off the bench.

Rule number one of free agency: When the local newspaper has to describe a team as “being very open minded” because they went to see a certain player work out, that player is not someone you want on the roster. Even if he was a college cult hero. Even if he has one of the better porn mustaches in the world. Even if he inexplicably has two more championship rings than John Stockton.

There’s a reason this guy is a bust and hopefully the Cs know understand why. Move on and find a wing that can:

    1. Defend
    2. Rebound
    3. Score

And please let him be 6’5′ minimum and under 30. Apparnetly the CS are kicking EVERY tire in the lot. Scary!!!

What’s the chance of a Moon and Parker deal for Sheed?

It’s probably a no way because I don’t think they have another SF on the roster other than Moon do they?

They don’t, but they do have some cap space so it wouldn’t be out of the question. With Sheed’s retiring contract they’d be way under the cap and able to afford a small forward or two.
