Over the past day or so, the free agent market has dwindled considerably with signing after signing . Luckily, I’m here to straighten out where everybody is headed next season for you. And, if by some crazy mishap I overlook any signings, please let me know in the comments section and I will update the post.
Ilgauskus to Miami: As reported by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Ilgauskus will be headed to Miami to once again team up with LeBron James. He is expected to sign a two-year deal with a player option for the second year. Most likely, the deal is for the veteran’s minimum, but the Heat do have about $3.6 million left in cap space after the Mike Miller signing, according to ESPN cap-genius Larry Coon.
Al Harrington to Denver: ESPN’s Marc Stein reported that Harrington will sign with the Nuggets for 5 years, $34 million. Stein’s report has been verified by this hilarious tweet from Harrington: “@a7harrington: yo my Tweeples. Appreciate the Love and Concern. But I’m taking my Talents to the MILE HIGH. LOL. Love Yall Lego DENVER!!”
Kyle Lowry offer sheet to Cleveland: Marc Spears, of Yahoo! Sports reported that the Cavs have signed Lowry– a restricted free agent for the Houston Rockets– to an offer sheet worth 4 years and about $24 million . No word on whether the Rockets will match but seems like a steep price to pay for a backup point guard.
Update: Rockets GM Daryl Morey says Houston WILL match offer sheet and Lowry will remain a Rocket
Anthony Morrow to New Jersey: Morrow was issued an offer sheet from the Nets worth 3 years, $20 million on Monday. Yesterday, a sign-and-trade was completed between the Golden State Warriors and the New Jersey Nets, sending Morrow to the Nets for a protected second-round pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Quentin Richardson to Orlando: Richardson joined the Magic on Tuesday with a three-year deal worth around $7.5 million, with a player option for a fourth year. Funny quote on the signing from GM Otis Smith: “Our objective is to keep hitting singles, and this is another single. I don’t think you hit a home run until you get a title.” A single. That’s got to show Q that the Magic are VERY confident in his ability.
Luke Ridnour to Minnesota: In another inexplicable move by GM David Kahn, the Wolves have agreed to a 4 year, $16 million deal with Ridnour, the same day they dumped salary by trading Al Jefferson. P.S. Wolves backup point guard Ramon Sessions was signed last offseason to a 4 year, $16 million deal.
Anthony Carter/ Shelden Williams to Denver: ESPN’s John Hollinger reports that Carter and Williams will be headed to Denver. Both deals are for the league’s veteran minimum.
Shaun Livingston to Charlotte: Free-agent point guard Shaun Livingston has agreed in principle to a two-year, $7 million contract with the Charlotte Bobcats, reported Adrian Wojnarowksi of Yahoo! Sports. The contract includes a team option for a third season as well.
