Celtics talking to Scal about a possible return

Yes! My prayers have been answered! The Celtics are in talks with Brian Scalabrine. (Boston Globe)

Scalabrine said in an e-mail that he is talking with the Celtics about returning next season. A Celtic since 2005, Scalabrine played a significant role in Boston’s 2009 playoff run, but saw limited time last season.

Only one word necessary: Scal.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for when I prayed to Red Auerbach to speed up Danny Ainge’s free agent doings. Who needs Ronnie Brewer, Josh Howard or Tony Allen when you can get Brian Mother-Fucking Scalabrine?!?

P.S. - Should the Celtics be showing interest in T-Mac? He’s washed up and  everything, we all know, and he could potentially be damaging to team chemistry… but wouldn’t he complement Scal better than Adam Morrison would?

P.P.S. – There hasn’t been any progress on the Nate Robinson front, says Danny Ainge. But who needs him when you can talk to Scal?

yes T-Mac!! and Shaq!! I like these rumors (I already commented about an all-star 90s team) but our bench would have to be very deep because all of our guys except for maybe Ray and Rondo are injury prone (I’m not serious about the all-star thing but if it happens it may be fun to watch… maybe not). Scalabrine is a good locker room guy but he can’t contribute… he’d just fill the roster and help in practice…

We should sign Antoine again too.

I just don’t see why you sign Scal. You got Harangody, who is basically a better version of him, who can actually rebound. Neither will see much time, so sign the rookie, he’s cheaper.

Love Scal, he’s a good guy to have on a team. But I’d much rather see some young guys filling out that roster.

Scal, weird as it seems, is a far better rebounder than ‘Gody. He’s also a great teammate.

Forget Scal and go find a project for the 15th spot. Maybe another Euro-stick over 7′. Scal’s usefulness has waned. Liked his effort but he didn’t deserve the contract he got and should be happy he was even in the league last year.

Haha. You mean $15 million for a guy who doesn’t play isn’t fair?

I don’t give a s*** about spending management when it comes to a guy like Scal’,

Yes, he should be happy he was in the league last year (some people would say he should be happy to stick in the league for all these years, or to even have had a career in it and, most of all, a Championship Ring), i got that,

But damn I love him, he’s the C’s unofficial mascot, a great bench player, and God knows chemistry is important for a team,

Yes, he doesn’t deserve to earn another mil, but heck, we’re rooting for multimilionaires who mostly have an ego bigger than Mike Sweetney so please, so don’t bring that whole logical stuff about signing a prospect as a 15th guy, let’s just ink Scal’, and then hire him as an assistant coach!! The prospect can wait..
