Blazers actively pursuing a Rudy Fernandez trade

Rudy Fernandez is definitely on the block. (The Columbian)

Blazers are actively pursuing trade for Fernandez. Team is willing to keep Fernandez, though, and will not give him away for “free.”

Blazers feel that situation with Fernandez has come to a head. His continuing talk about possible move has team wanting to resolve situation.

If Fernandez chooses to play elsewhere, Blazers could place him on suspended list. Team doesn’t think it will come to that, though.

Only way Fernandez is not on Blazers’ roster at start of season is if he is traded. Team will not release him or “sell” his rights.

Rudy wants the hell out of Portland and the Celtics are one of the teams he is willing to be traded to. What would it take to fetch him? A draft pick or two? Does that even work under the CBA? I don’t know. But I’ve been blogging since fucking 6:00 a.m., my brain is fried, and I’m not in the mood to check it out. Sue me.

Update: P.S. – T-Mac listed four teams he’s interested in, or are interested in him. The Celtics weren’t included. Oh well.

I don’t think it works though. I don’t think the Celtics can take that much salary back with just a pick.

They would probably have to include Gaffney or Lafayette. Not that it’s a huge price to pay.

Then that would be OK. I’m still hoping, as if you couldn’t tell by my posts, that Sheed stays on and we can get Rudy and then some fillers (but not crap fillers!).

I think that might be the best-case. I guess Barnes would be part of the best-case too. Barnes, Rudy, Sheed and call it a day? Bam, that’s a good bench. But it’s also highly unlikely.

I want this to happen for only one reason only.

The epic chants, can’t you imagine the garden now screaming…

Ruuuuuudy, Ruuuuudy, Ruuuuudy, Ruuuuudy, Ruuuuudy, Ruuuuudy.

I just want the slow clap that comes with the chant.

Lafayette and a first, maybe a second too.

Danny needs to go get this because nothing else out there is going to be better.

Get Rudy, hope for Barnes if not then bring back Quis and if you can’t bring yourself to get Quis then go for one of your other scrap pile junkies. Then maybe Josh Boone to help with rebounding and then we can see about getting Nocioni in a trade or if Sheed were to come back then that’s great too, but at least do SOMETHING Danny!!!

Fernandez, Quis and Sheed? I’d like that. Don’t really like Nocioni.
