Luke Harangody close to inking deal

Buzz or Luke?

Luke Harangody, aka Buzz from Home Alone, is hopeful that he will have a deal soon, perhaps by the end of this week. (CSNNE)

The agent for Boston Celtics’ second-round pick Luke Harangody is hopeful to have a deal done for his client as early as this week.

His agent, Mark Bartelstein, told CSNNE.com that he plans to talk with Danny Ainge, Boston’s president of basketball operations, sometime this week to try and iron out a deal for the former Notre Dame standout.

“I’m hopeful we can get it done pretty quickly,” Bartelstein said.

“It’s unbelievable how a guy could dominate a conference as good as the Big East for so many years, and wind up in the second round,” Bartelstein said.

And there’s Mark Bartelstein again. That damn guy is everywhere.

By the way, I’ll tell you exactly how you can “dominate a conference as good as the Big East for so many years, and wind up in the second round.” You are the size of a small forward with the game of a power forward and the athleticism of a center. Now that’s not to say Harangody won’t be a contributor in the league. It’s only to say that he has some obstacles to overcome that more physically-talented players don’t.

P.S. – “Buzz, you’re not at all worried that something might happen to Kevin?”

“No, for three reasons: A, I’m not that lucky. Two, we use smoke detectors and D, we live on the most boring street in the whole United States of America, where nothing even remotely dangerous will ever happen. Period.”

P.P.S. – “Kevin, I’m going to feed you to my tarantula.”
