Eddie House signs with the Miami Heat

Damn, Eddie. Damn.

Eddie House has signed with the Miami Heat. (Adrian Wojnarowski)

Eddie House has reached agreement on a two-year, $2.8 million deal with the Miami Heat, his agent, Mark Bartelstein tells Y! Sports.

I’ve got only one question: Does Eddie House signing with the Miami Heat make him kind of like Johnny Damon? Because though I came to hate Damon and everything he stands for, I always wanted to love House. But now he’s signed with the NBA’s Yankees, where he will flank Dwyane Wade and Lebron James and combine with Mike Miller and James Jones to form a sick line of long-range assassins at the Three Am-egos side.

By the way, I’m now going to answer my question. No, House is nothing at all like Johnny Damon. He had no loyalty to the Celtics whatsoever after they shipped him away. House signing with the Heat does nothing to change the fact that he gave his all for years in a Boston uniform, and I will always appreciate House and wish him the best. His teammates, on the other hand? Well, they can go to hell. On their way to hell, though, they’ll probably pick up at least a few championships. I’m all for making a team earn its rings on the court, but the Heat are surrounding their stars with perfect complementary pieces. If their big men can stop anyone defensively, this team might win 86 or 87 regular season games. No joke.

Thank God he is elsewhere!!! Now Nate can get the mintues he needs/earns and Bradley can get some development time. Rudy & Shaq = Banner 18! My new daily mantra! Go Cs…

You are an unrelenting optimist. The Heat just signed the perfect complement to Lebron and you’re happy because it freed up minutes for Nate Robinson. I wish I could see life through your eyes for only one day.

We don’t need a guy that:

        1. stands in one spot and shoots 3s (easy to guard and is short so even easier)
        2. can’t get his own shot
        3. can’t play defense and is too short
        4. takes minutes from Nate/Bradley

So Miami got him. BFD! They can’t play more than 5 guys at a time and three of them are going to be on the floor 95% of the time.

Again, say it with me…Rudy & Shaq = Banner 18. Go Cs… Maybe it’s letter writing time again, huh Jay?

He’ll knock down some shots, but he’s hardly a perfect compliment.

Eddie House is not going to scare anyone anymore than the Heat already did.

And I get the 86/87 thing was a joke (since there’s only 82 games in a season) but really, no team will ever beat the Bulls 73. Ever. There’s way to much competition out there.

As soon as I saw the title of the article I just yelled out, “Whyyyyy”. I mean if he wasn’t gonna come to the Celtics… of all the teams to go to… Miami? lol Like I don’t have enough reasons to dislike Miami.

Amen to that. I don’t blame him, and I didn’t want him on the Celtics anyway. But it’s kinda like seeing an old friend from College, years later when you’ve lost touch, who’s unemployed, fat, and now an alcoholic. You just see him and think “Man, what happened to you, you used to be so cool.”

    Wont change anything.

C’s wouldn’t have taken him anyways.

C’s and MIA will rule the East this year, everyone else will get wiped out.

LA will make it through a weak West and MIA or BOS will trounce them in the Finals.

Orl won’t challenge. They’ve never done anything other than go 7 games without KG. Other than that, they should’ve been swept last year and lost in 6 the year before.

MIA will break the record at some point. Someone who is really good will come to them next year through the MLE, taking a pay cut to win, and they’ll win somewhere in the 75-76 game range with the three supers.

C’s are the only ones who can stop MIA. If they get Rudy and Shaq just hang banner 18 now cuz it’s over. If they don’t get those two guys, they may not have the depth to make it through the season and playoffs. Then it’s the first of many titles for MIA.

You’re assuming the MLE will exist in the new CBA.

He’s gonna put up good numbers on that team. And I don’t blame him a bit for going to a team that is the best fit for him, especially if he got a two year deal.

Also, keep in mind that the Celtics traded him. So if anyone has a complaint about loyalty or all that garbage, it would be Eddie.

i dont think rudy or shaq are going to be game changers like most of you make them to be… and if lbj alone can get a 62-20 record, then with dwade and bosh its possible to beat the bulls 73 probably within the next 3 years.

Not game changers, just good insurance and depth off the bench. If the Celtics bench includes Nate, Rudy, ‘Quis, Big Baby, and Shaq, that’s one hell of a bench. Not to mention a damn good starting five that’s proven itself time and again.

Is there a way we can ban Jason. Shaq and rudy equal Championship. That is logically incorrect. Every team shaq has played for in the last three years has done worse not better with him. he is slow and can not play any pick and roll defense. If the C’s get him they will not make it to the finals.
