Kendrick Perkins: Recovery “coming along real well”

This is what Perk looks like after good news.

Kendrick Perkins has begun the long road back to the parquet floor. (Sports Radio Interviews)

“I’m feeling good. I’m actually at the gym right now getting PT. I’m in physical therapy right now but just taking it one day at a time, just trying to get stronger, and it’s coming along real well. I’m just trying to take it slow, but take it one day at a time.”

I don’t know much about Perk’s lifestyle and I have never watched him work out, but from seeing him evolve over the years I know at least one thing about him: The man is a workout animal. Perk’s transformation from the pudgy, bumbling, straight-outta-high-school bum he was as a rookie into a cut-up sculpture of raw power who just might be the best defender in the league leaves no doubt that Perk is as dedicated as they come. If he doesn’t come back quickly from this injury, it won’t be due to any lack of effort.

Get better, Perk. The C’s are going to need you.

PLEASE do not rush back perk. we dont need another garnett running around tentatively and losing half of his defensive effectiveness. we with j.o. signed and assuming we manage a half decent (4 seed) record prior to the all star break i dont see why perk needs to return before then.

I doubt they’ll rush him back, especially if they can sign Shaq or another center. Please, no Kwame.

I think Shaq would be great since we now have Jermaine. With a healthy Perk, KG, Baby and Jermaine and Shaq. We can be tough to beat up front. What’s Miami’s weakness?? Big Men that play Dee!!

I’m slowly being talked into Shaq by all our wonderful commentors. We do need to improve our rebounding from last season, and Shaq would certainly shore that up

Yup. Pound those weak bastards inside. Big Z would have a tough time with the Diesel and Jermaine.
