Celtics one of three teams in running for Delonte West

West may have some issues, but the man can play.

The names just keep coming. This time it’s Delonte West. Danny Ainge wants to make the Celtics bench the deepest, most talented bench in the league. By the time this offseason is all said and done, he might do just that. (Sam Amico)

Delonte West officially waived by Wolves. Early word is he could end up with Celtics, Bulls or Mavs.

I’d bet my left kidney the Celtics end up with either West or Rudy Fernandez. One or the other. West is a more complete player, but Rudy doesn’t have as many issues. Then they’ll still have Sheed’s contract to play with, but the bench will already be so stacked at every position I don’t even know what they’ll use it for. Probably a small forward in case Marquis shits the bed again and/or Vonilla Wafer and Rudy Fernandez/Delonte West can’t defend bigger small forwards. Either way, no matter what way you look at it, the thought of next season’s bench is making me leap for joy. Only problem with leaping for joy is, I can barely leap over a credit card.

    Suddenly this bench is materializing.

Depth is the key for our older celtics. If the C’s can remain healthy, their is no question they can be in the NBA Finals again.

Health in the spring is the key. Keep ‘em coming Danny!

    I’d welcome Delonte or Fernandez.

Depth is huge for the Celtics. The Big Three could potentially get a whole lot of rest this season.

It really is incredible how deep the bench can be next year. Sucks for Tony and Oliver, cause it just doesn’t look like there will be a spot next year.

But when your start of year 13th man on the depth chart is Von Wafer… wow. They have multiple bench players at almost every single position who, at one point or another, were solid primary backup/starting talent guys (Daniels, Wafer, Shaq, West, JO when Perk gets back, Davis, Robinson) every single one of those guys either has been, or shown flashes of starting talent.

Going to be a whole lot of competition for playing time next year.

Yes there is. Doc’s going to have his hands full with disappointed bench-warmers, methinks.

I just hope there will be space for Harangody

If the C’s sign West, there might not be.

Forget West, get Rudy and sign Harangody. There’s plenty of minutes available if you balance the fact that the older Celtics can play less so they have more to give come playoff time. And then you pick and choose your bench players based on match-ups and who’s hot or defending best. Go Cs…

I’m fine with not signing Harangody. He would have a whole lot of trouble finding much playing time behind all those big men.

Harangody is a good young talent and the Celtics need to start developing some over taking West who’ll eat up VW’s and Bradley’s minutes.

P.S. He gets “playing time” in practivce banging everyday against the best front line in the NBA. That’s how he gets an education and better for when he is called upon. Go Cs…

A good young talent who fell to 52nd in the draft for a reason. He’s too short and too unathletic to be a stud, and with Big Baby the Celtics already have their quota for under-sized power forwards. ‘Gody won’t get any time at all, while Delonte would help the team for sure.

            And he can’t play defense.

D West has been a complete headcase (before and) ever since he left the Celts, why anyone would bring him and his legal troubles waiting to happen to their team should have their heads examined.

That said, it could really f*ck with Lebron’s head if he was on the Celts and we played the Heat in the playoffs :P

maybe on opening night, delonte can fuck with lebron saying stuff about how “good” his mom was in bed, and lebron will attack him and be suspended for the entire season. west will have to take one for the team….

Potentially a very interesting sub-plot. It would make for some easy chants, at the very least.

Maybe Delonte could get a tattoo of the word “mom” tattooed on his forehead or a nice arm tattoo of he and Gloria “hangin” in Cleveland
