Rudy Fernandez likely headed to Chicago

Looks like there won't be any "five-foot nothing, a hundred nothing" jokes next year, after all. Damn it.

Well, looks like Rudy Fernandez will be off the market soon. And he won’t be joining The Green Mile in Boston. He’s probably headed to Chicago. (Tommy Dee)

Source says a deal with Rudy Fernandez and the Bulls could be done by monday. James Johnson to portland but blaz want a draft pick as well.

As Red’s Army points out, Fernandez wasn’t ideal for the Celtics anyway. Look for Danny to flip Sheed’s contract into a solid, defensive-minded small forward with size. Who? It beats me. I’ve been on the trade machine trying to find the perfect trade, but I keep migrating back to the whole “God, the thought of Shane Battier in Boston makes me hard” thing. Oh well. That’s what you guys are for. What other small forwards should the Celtics target with Sheed’s contract?

None. Keep Sheed as he is better having than getting West/Hughes/and all the other crap left. Go Cs…

But you can’t force Sheed to play. If he wants out, he’s done.

Cant play D, numbers were bloated in NYK cause of the D’Antoni system.

^^ Brewer for Sheed and a 1st. Wouldn’t it make sense for the T wolves as well as the Celtics? They get a pick for rebuilding, which they are in the process of, and more cap room to maneuver; we get a solid wing who’s great at D, has size, and a (semi-reliable) jumpshot. I like Brewer alot considering how much he grew as a player in the past year.

Also the fact that they drafted Wes Matthews can’t hurt our chances either.

Also the fact that KAHHHNNNN!!!! is running the T-Wolves points to this as a lock – if we want it.

He’s rail thin at 188, I have my doubt about him guarding strong SFs.

It’s weird saying Brewer has a semi-reliable jumpshot, because his jumper used to be broker than I am. But it’s true. He’s improved a lot. Plus, you’ve always gotta love someone who decapitated Derek Fisher. I would like Brewer.

Posey would be great option. But I don’t see NO doing it, unless their about to trade CP3 and are going into full rebuild.

Boston knows Posey is overpaid at the 6mil he’s making, but since the contract isn’t past two years, might be willing to but the bullet on it, especially since they got such bargains to fill the front court.

But again, it all comes back to NO, and I just don’t see them trading Posey for cap relief.

I’m not sold on Posey at all. As huge as he was to the title run, he’s not the same player anymore. Not at all.

I almost thought it was worth giving T-Mac a shot. Then I read that he thinks he’s still a starting-caliber player. That was the last straw for me. T-Mac can go somewhere else.

man do you think shaq seriosly thinks he is a bench player? Youl see man when october rolls by..big fella gon speak up for sureee!
If T-Mac would come he would have to talk to the other vets, and if he wants to win he will accept a smaller role.

If he doesnt come it means somethins up because i dont think Danny is “sleeping” on Tmac. So its on him.

Most interesting trade I’ve seen yet. But doubtful SAK lets Casspri go since he’s on such a cheap deal, and is probably a big part of their future plans.

being from Sacramento there is no way we would do this deal Omri is a very promising player. and he is hooked cheap. Why would we give up a cheap interesting player to take on two salaries worth 10 million this trade would never happen.

I’m living in Sac at the moment and there is no f’in way this ever happens. He is loved here and has a great game. The Kings are moving up and Cousins and Dalembert are going to give them the frontline they were missing. Building like OK has and will soon be a playoff caliber team.

Re: Sheed… When he says he’s retiring is when I’ll believe it. For the 13M he has for the next two years and this quality team he has to be coming back…just for the fun aspect of it. Go Cs…

if we could find a way to get Teyshaun Price in a 3 way trade for rasheed, and a draft pick that would be a dream—-there is about 5 million difference in contract so it would be hard—but pistons want to move prince

I don’t think there’s any way that trade works. I’d love Tay on the squad, but salaries would be almost impossible to match.

It’s possible, using Gaff and Oliver’s contracts (who’d be waived, much as that would pain me) and a young asset, like Avery Bradley, it works:

        http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

        Or this:

        http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

So the question comes down to, would Detroit have any interest in Bradley, and if not, would you give up Big Baby to get him. I’d imagine Detroit would have some interest in Baby. He’s young, shows promise as a potential starting 4, and is an expiring deal. But I wouldn’t give him up, I love Davis on the Celtics and wouldn’t trade him away for anything.

Then again, they do have a logjam at PF with Maxiell, Monroe, Villaneuva, and Wilcox, so may not.

JO and Sheed can play PF. I’d like to see GD play some SF in a big line-up. Defense would be tougher to handle but it could work as he’s a hustler. Go Cs…

In their primes, those guys were power forwards. But now? There are a whole lot of power forwards in this league that would treat those guys like a free bus pass to the hoop.

2 things. Posey would have been a different player on Boston the last two years. The second thing, whatever happen to getting Josh Howard? I heard he can’t be traded until December. Is that gonna be the trade for Sheed?

Posey-the trade works and we have the personal to cover up his flaws I think

Shawn Marion (no indication that Cuban is interested in moving him but they have sparse minutes at the wing and some younger and or cheaper options and Cuban has spent quite a bit this summer)

Battier- already been covered seems unlikely

Boris Diaw-looking to lose major minutes to the up and comer Tyrus Thomas. Jordan is looking to compete for cheap and he makes 9 million a year and has what looks to be a diminishing role on that team (works for Sheed and Lafayette and Oliver) plus if Sheed unretires he and Larry Brown love each other.
