Shaq challenges Jim Rome to boxing match
After Jim Rome challenged his legacy on air, Shaq fired a few Twitter volleys before coming with the overhead smash.

I don’t know about you guys, but I think I’d pick Shaq to win that one. Just a hunch. But Rome wimped out. Apparently he didn’t want to be hospitalized by a seven-footer.

I can’t figure out how I feel about Jim Rome. I hated him for the whole “Chris Everett” thing. He talked a whole lot of crap, thinking that because they were on TV Jim Everett wouldn’t lay a finger on him. It bothers me when people talk a whole lot of noise just because they feel they’re protected. But you know what? On the other hand, I kind of respect his balls. The man is unafraid to voice his opinion, and to voice it straight to people’s faces. He’s not at all like Stephen A. Smith, who shits all over players when they aren’t there but then got his own show and did nothing but kiss ass. So I’m a little confused about Rome. Oh well, either way Shaq would have kicked his ass.

He’s pandering to the crowds. He knows his show is all about making headlines, and saying the things no one else will say. It doesn’t make him some trail blazer, it just makes him a smart marketer.
Personally I get tired of his act, and about 99% of the time just wish he’d shut up.

I’m with you. But that small part of me admires him for having the guts to say that stuff to people’s faces. Even if it’s just a marketing ploy (which it obviously is).
