Doc Rivers: “We’re deadly serious about winning”

I’m not going to lie, I love quotes like this. “We’re deadly serious about winning.” Can’t the season start already? (Boston Herald)

“Nate turned the corner during the playoffs for us as far as understanding that this is a team, that this is not the ‘Nate Show,’ “ Rivers said. “We’re deadly serious about winning, and there’s a time and place to have fun. Honestly, he wouldn’t have played if he hadn’t learned that.”

THIS is why I love the Celtics. They aren’t just serious about winning, they’re “deadly serious” about winning. And Doc’s not blowing smoke, either. Those guys love to win and they don’t care about shit else. Not stats, not playing time, nothing. It’s why Shaq signed for the minimum. It’s why Von Wafer will either change his problematic ways or spend the season sitting on the bench with his warmup suit on. It’s why KG’s in the best shape of his life. The Celtics are deadly serious about winning, and they aren’t going to let anything stop them from the pursuit of that goal. God damn, I love these guys.

The waiting is killing me, and it’s still August. It would be nice if I went to sleep and then woke up to find that it’s October 26th, lol.

I’ve never been so pumped for a season.

Even after we got KG in 2008.

I had a gut feeling back then that the C’s were for sure bringing home banner 17. I haven’t had that feeling since then (except when they were up 3-2 against LA I thought they’d win, but was never 100% sure of it).

This year, after that foruth quarter rip off by the Fakers, I am more angry, furious, and downright disgusted with the Laker’s, officials, and David Stern’s dirt bag business model that I can hardly wait for the season to start.

If I’m this mad, imagine how bad the C’s are fuming! They will come with a new will to win and have revenge!

The Laker’s better watch out. I will say it now…without any major injuries, this time next year, I will be on this very website and every LA blog asking Kobe how Shaqs Ass tastes when the C’s have won banner 18 and put LA back in its place.

The C’s WILL win next year, and do it resoundingly so. LA will be pounded, smashed and obliterated in the frontcourt, at the wing and even more at the Point! This will be as resounding a year as 1986, and I won’t be supprised if LA doesn’t show up yet again, for fear of the absolute TROUNCING they will recieve.

Sleep well Kobe, Pau, Phil…you’ll be having nightmares next offseason.
