The day Shaq lit a teddy bear on fire

payday loans

Shaq hasn’t panicked since he was nine years old. At least, that’s how he tells it. (New York Times)

When was the last time you panicked?
1981.

When you were 9?
We were living with relatives, and I just happened to steal a lighter from the kitchen counter. I had a teddy bear. My thing was to just light the tail and then blow it out and laugh. Ha, ha. But as soon as I lit the tail, the whole thing caught on fire. It almost caught the house on fire. I got the whooping of my life.

So now I know you guys are all wondering when the last time I panicked was. The answer’s obvious: The last time I typed “Larry Hughes” and “Boston Celtics” in the same sentence.

P.S. – This is a couple days late, but Shaq said this during his press conference: “He has one [championship], he should have three, so hopefully we can get this one together.” Is Shaq saying the Celtics should have won the last two titles, and would have if they were healthy?

He was talking about KG when he said that. So yes, Shaq is saying, without injury, they’d have 3-peated.

    Yes.

Shaq is saying that without Perks injury last year (and the horrifying officiating in that series) or KG’s injury the year before, that Kobe would still have no REAL rings of his own and Shaq would be asking how his ass tastes.

Which is exactly what he’ll remind him of after KG and the C’s win this years AND the next, to total 3 for KG and 6 for the Shaqtus.

I’ve always liked Shaq, and found it hard to dislike him when with LA. I wanted them to lose but I still liked him, and hated Kobe.

Now I can have both the way they should be.

shaq says a lot of stuff though. i really dont see him just accepting a bench role like he said he would. i dont see it as too big of a problem because worst worst case we can just buy him out but i just dont think people should take all of his words at face value, look at his press conferences when he joined phoenix etc, he talked about rings there too i think, or at least the playoffs, and neither of those happened lol.
