Paul Pierce has the same nightmare I do

I go to sleep after a good day, with nothing but good thoughts on my mind. Kit Kats, golf, blogging, the Celtics, my girlfriend and my jumper are the only things I’m thinking about as I fall asleep. My dream can’t help but be good, right? Umm, wrong.

I told you guys about the night I dreamed about Shaq, but I haven’t discussed my other dream, a darker dream, a recurring nightmare. The one where the Celtics take a 13-point lead in the second half of The Game That Must Not Be Named and still end up losing. I inevitably cry in my dream, then wake up to real tears streaming down my face. No matter how much time passes, I can’t get that damn game out of my mind.

And neither can Paul Pierce. (Boston Herald)

Pierce hasn’t watched film of the Celtics’ Game 7 NBA Finals loss to the Lakers.

He doesn’t have to.

“I see it every day in my dreams,” he said.

“But I have no regrets. I feel I left it all out on the floor.”

I agree Pierce and his crew left it all on the floor in The Game That Must Not Be Named. But what about Game 6? That’s where I have my regrets. Damn it! Hold on a second; trying to drown myself in my bath tub.

Okay, I’m back. Anyway, Pierce is very confident about next season’s team. And he says Shaq has no ego. (Boston Globe)

“You are adding veterans who aren’t going to have an ego either and are playing for the same things we are playing for,’’ he said. “It’s not like we are getting a young Shaq or young Jermaine O’Neal.

“These guys had their success in the league and continue to have it, but they aren’t stat-conscious. That’s the whole key with us. It’s all about the sacrifice.’’

Shaq actually didn’t have an ego last season. But what’s going to happen when Doc asks him to play off the bench behind Jermaine O’Neal? Or when Perk comes back and all of a sudden Shaq only plays 5-10 minutes a game? Will he have no ego then? That’s what I want to know.

P-Double’s right, we can mourn about that darn game but take pride from the way this team behaved..

The Lakers’ cannonball start mixed with the loss of Perk’ which definitly affected the C’s ability to win the boards battle as well as the boys’ minds costed us G6
