Delonte West was reportedly seen searching for an apartment in Waltham. Coincidentally (not so coincidentally?), Waltham happens to be where the Celtics’ training facilities are. This rumor comes on the heels of Red’s Army receiving a mysterious and completely “unsubstantiated” email that West was in Boston yesterday to take a physical. (Boston Herald)

That former Celtic Delonte West, who was recently waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves, was apartment hunting in Waltham. We have no idea why Delonte would be nosing around Celtics [team stats] country, what with Rajon Rondo [stats] and Nate Robinson already in da house. But do stay tuned . . .

Could West really be close to signing with the Celtics? From a basketball standpoint, it makes sense. West doesn’t have the ideal size the Celtics would be looking for off the bench, but he can shoot the rock and play three positions. The Celtics need another wing off the bench, and West would fit nicely.

From a non-basketball standpoint, it doesn’t make so much sense. Unless, you know, you think it would be nice to sign a player who is a mix between Al Pacino in Scarface and Finch from American Pie.
