10 Reasons why the Boston Celtics will win the 2011 NBA Championship

The skeptics, the doubters, the haters say the Celtics are a team of the past. Miami is the team to beat in the East. The Celtics are too old, too hobbled. They have too many egos, too many personal agendas. Assistant coach Tom Thibodeau left, and the defense won’t be the same. Especially with Shaq.

I say, they’re wrong. The Celtics are not a team of the past, but the team of the present. If you don’t believe me, I’ll even give you 10 reasons why the Celtics will win the ‘ship.

10. Miami not ready- I’m not stupid enough to believe that the Miami Heat will struggle this season. The Heat won 47 games last season, with Dwyane Wade and a cast of misfits. With the addition of LeBron James and Chris Bosh, they should, and will, win at least 60 games.

Unfortunately for Miami, the regular season and the playoffs are two separate creatures. It appears Joel Anthony will be the Heat’s starting center, and Mario Chalmers the starting point guard. Superstars can win games by themselves in the regular season, but when the intensity turns up in the playoffs, superstars need some support. Joel Anthony and Mario Chalmers are not equipped to provide that support.

Next season, with the addition of another mid-level exception player and a bi-annual exception player, the Miami Heat will be poised to win a ring for the king. Just not yet.

9. Improved bench- On paper, Shaq is the only addition to a bench that significantly underperformed last season. Eddie House was shipped off at the trade deadline due to poor shooting. Glen Davis and Marquis Daniels missed long stretches of the season with thumb injuries. After returning from his thumb injury, Daniels found his way into Doc Rivers’s kennel, in the cage next to mid-season addition Nate Robinson. Tony Allen, maligned for years by Celtics fans, was the only reliable bench player.

In-house improvement, however, will make this season’s second-unit a disruptive force. The addition of Shaq will give Davis the freedom to play the high-post, and roam the perimeter, where he is at his most productive. Coming into the season healthy and reinvigorated by Shaq’s presence, Davis will challenge for the sixth man of the year award. Nate Robinson, who earned Doc Rivers’s trust late in the playoffs, will have a full off-season and training camp to familiarize himself with the Celtics offensive and defensive concepts. From day one, Robinson will know his role: provide a scoring punch and defensive energy burst while Rondo rests. Similarly, Daniels will improve on last season’s letdown because he too will have a defined role. Last season, Daniels was asked to score, defend, and take care of the ball-handling duties. This season, Daniels will be Paul Pierce’s primary backup at small forward, leaving the ball-handling duties to Robinson. Freed from pretending to be a point guard, Daniels will recover the lost talent that led him to be so highly valued last off-season.

 8.  Kevin Garnett- Garnett is so important to this team’s success, not because of his on-court ability, but because of his leadership. Garnett is 100% committed and focused to the goal of winning a championship, and he demands the same out of every other player in the Celtics locker room. You can’t dog sprints, or miss a defensive assignment, with KG around. He’ll let you know about it, just ask Big Baby.

The Captain

7. The Captain- Paul Pierce may not be as vocal, but he is every bit the leader that Garnett is. He has sacrificed more than any other Celtic. When Garnett and Ray Allen came aboard, Pierce not only bought in defensively and transformed himself into a stopper, but he gave up shots for the sake of the team. Pierce is not nearly the player he was in 2008, but he still has the charisma to be followed, and the compass to lead us home.

 6. Upgraded frontline/ rebounding- In Game 7 of the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics were out-rebounded 53-40 by the Los Angeles Lakers. 23-8 on the offensive glass. For the season, the Celtics ranked 25th out of 30 teams in rebounding differential, being out-rebounded by 1.47 board per game. The case can be made that the Celtics didn’t win a championship because they were too weak up front. Danny Ainge seemed to think so, using his mid-level exception to sign Heat center Jermaine O’Neal, and cajoling Shaq into signing for the veteran’s minimum.

With the addition of the O’Neal’s, the Celtics have bolstered a weak front-court, turning it into a potential strength. Even with Kendrick Perkins sidelined, the Celtics rebounding numbers should drastically improve from last season.

 5.  Doc Rivers- Before Doc Rivers returned for another season on the Celtics bench, Boston was in turmoil. Ray Allen was a free agent, and Paul Pierce was opting out of his contract. The Big Three Era was in limbo. Then, Rivers re-signed, and the dominoes fell into place: Allen re-signed, Pierce re-upped for four years, and Shaq joined the gang. Pierce, Allen, and Shaq knew what it took me years to understand: Doc Rivers is one of the best coaches in the NBA. Not because of X’s and O’s, but because of his ability to manage egos and take 15 guys with different agendas and form a single, cohesive unit.

With Shaq, Big Baby, and Nate Robinson all on the same team, Rivers will have his hands full this season. It’s going to take a master psychologist and unquestioned leader to navigate the mine field that this season could become. Luckily, the Celtics are in the good hands of the Doctor.

4. Rajon Rondo- I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: this is Rajon Rondo’s team now. Part of last season’s turbulence was caused by the The Big Three’s unwillingness to accept Rondo as the star that he has become. When the playoffs rolled around, however, Rondo was the break-out player and The Big Three realized they had been holding back their shining pupil all along. Now, with the go-ahead from The Big Three, Rondo is going to emerge as one of the best players in the NBA, and the Celtics go-to player.

3. Ubuntu- It’s been said, “the harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.” For the 2011 Celtics I’d add, “the more you care about your teammates, the harder it is to quit on them.”

The Celtics biggest strength is their team chemistry, their togetherness. The team’s core has been through the wars, has survived the traps that can snag a team without warning. The returning Celtics KNOW they can rely on the man standing next to them. That’s the kind of strength it takes to win a ring.

2. Legacy- NFL running back Tony Dorsett once said, “To succeed you need to find something to hold onto, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.” The 2011 Boston Celtics are motivated by their individual legacies, as well as the legacy of the The Big Three-Era Celtics. Jermaine O’Neal wants to win his first championship. Rajon Rondo wants to stake his claim as the best point guard in the NBA with his second ring by the age of 25.

Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett have repeatedly said that the all-time greats have more than one ring. Pierce, Garnett, and Ray Allen want to be mentioned with the hallowed names of the NBA. Shaquille O’Neal is already mentioned among the league’s greatest, but he wants to match Kobe Bryant, ring for ring.

Aside from personal ambition, Boston wants to be known as the best team of their era. They want a rubber-match with the Los Angeles Lakers, and they want to prove that, when healthy, they are the better team.

Celtics can't forget

1. Revenge-  To lose any championship-game is heartbreaking. To lose a Game 7, to the Los Angeles Lakers, in LA, after leading by 13 midway through the third quarter is as devastating as it gets. The only redemptive factor is that pain of that magnitude can be converted into motivation. More than anything, the 2011 Boston Celtics are motivated by revenge. The memory of the Lakers celebrating last year’s NBA championship has haunted the team for months, and is an image that will not be forgotten on their championship quest. The Celtics will not let the pain go until it has delivered them a joy of equal or greater value. That pain, that memory can only be cleansed by raising banner 18.

They will not only use this anger and rage to hoist banner 18 but bank on 19 if there’s no lockout.

The Celtic’s will be primed to make their own bid for the best team and make sure LA remembers that in the matchup of titles for each team recently, they have 3 LA has 2. And if it came against LA…even better! Head to head it would be 3-1…

That’s a legacy the big three can retire to. Along with Shaq having 6 rings to Kobe’s 5 and JO adding 2 to his case at home.

As for Rondo…3 by 26 years old puts him ahead of CP3 and DWill no problem. Plus he’ll win more before he’s done.

When his career’s over…he’ll be looking down at Kobe in the Ring category!

I’ve been saying that it’s Rondo’s team for quite a while now. Nice to see someone agrees. People forget how young this kid is. He had a big job thrust upon him-running a team of established stars. He showed this season that he’s both a leader and a star. I can wait to see what he’s got in his bag of tricks this season.

The only problem with it being Rondo’s team is that the Celtics aren’t the same as they used to be in crunch-time. Paul Pierce used to own the clutch, but the Celtics looked pretty lost in the last couple minutes most of last season. Rondo needs to take the next step to becoming a guy who can create buckets (for himself or others) when the Celtics really need them.

“Pierce not only bought in defensively and transformed himself into a stopper”

A stopper of what exactly? Stopping ball-movement on offense? A drain stopper? A stopper knot?

Oh, you meant a defensive stopper? BWAHAHAHAHAHA. I seem to remember Ron Artest rolling all over him in Game 7.

Pierce couldn’t stop a run-on sentence if you spotted him a period. He has no D, and no rebounding, neither of which is going to change anytime soon.

Dude, you seem to be forgetting that Pierce is one of the best rebounding small fowards in the league, with like 6.5 a game or something like that. No matter that he’s in his thirties. Pierce is a defensive stopper now. Did you even watch last years playoffs?????

The only reason why I’m chiming into this site is because it was posted as a link on the LA Lakers blog. You actually have 10 reasons why Boston will win the championship next season? TEN? Surely you can’t think that a broken down shell of a Shaq will push you over the top. And all of that crap that Doc said where LA hasn’t defeated a healthy Celtics starting 5 is simply rediculous. The same can be said for anytime that had to battle injuries during the playoffs. Andrew Bynum played most of the post season on ONE LEG and LA still out rebounded the Celtics. The pick up of J O’neal was decent but Boston’s issues last season was not only rebounding but the 7 minute stretches where they couldn’t score. News flash Celtics, you got rid of the spark plug bench scoring when you let Posey and House go. Sure defense wins championships but the winner of any game is given to the team who scores the most points; the Celtics simply don’t have the fire power to win week end and week out to be NBA champs. Are they the best defensive team in the league? Absolutely. But Ray Allen is not going to be hitting threes like he’s unconscious every night, Pierce is not going to score 30 every night (against good teams) and Rondo can’t it an outside shot to save his life. The Celtics window closed when they couldn’t score in the 4th quarter in Game 7. They are looking up at the Heat and Magic.

“Paul Pierce and Rondo have so much fire… KG is the leader… They have Doc back…”

That’s fine for the Celtics, but what do you think about the Lakers? You think Kobe and Gasol are just going to sleep through the playoffs? -Not to mention the upgraded team with the additions of Blake and Barnes. Did I mention the Lakers resigned their coach as well? I believe he has the most rings as a coach. Doc is obviously no comparison to him; Doc just complains and makes excuses when they lose. Nice try for an article… pathetic Celtic fans.

    10. yes, the Heat aren’t ready to win as mentioned.
    9. improved bench
addition of Steve Blake, Matt Barnes, Theo Ratliff > addition of Shaq
    8. leadership – Lakers still have Derek Fisher
    7. the captain – KOBE: no further explanation.
    6. upgraded frontline/rebounding: see number 9
    5. Phil Jackson has also returned to the Lakers. He only wins 3 rings in a row at a time.
    4. Rondo: definitely a good player, but still has no outside shot. If he thought last year was difficult, it is going to get even harder because we Farmar got replaced by Blake.
    3. same applies for Lakers
    2. same applies for Lakers
    1. how great was it for lakers to win the championship at home! On top of that, it was against the Celtics! Kobe said it himself that the feeling he had that night was indescribale. So why not do it again? (that is, if the Celtics can make it to the finals)

Conclusion: a couple of adjustments and this shows the 10 Reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers will win the 2011 Championship.

O you poor stupid celtic fans get over it its over your all what if if we were healthy we would have won. Guess what life if full of ifs and what could have been suck it up and get ready for the new season boston will win 55 games this year be 2 or 3 in the east then lose in the second round or eastern conference finals then your window is shut. Shaq will bitch depending on how the celts lose in the playoffs GArnett is never going to be the same 100% that he was before hurting his knee and paul pierce is a flake. The one thing you got going for you is RONDO who as much as i hate to say this is one of if not the most exciting player in the league. Im a laker fan so that was hard to admit. But sorry guys you got your chip in 2008 and hey 17 chips for one franchise is sweet some dont have any so suck it up and get use to another long drought like before 2008. Oh and ray allen is gonna pull a hammy or tweak his knee this year go back and watch a few playoff games where he got banged watch out now Celts going down in flames just like shaqs legacy. LA ALL DAY BEANTOWN SUCKS AND SO DO ITS TRASHY PEOPLE> IM OUT.

Count me as a lifetime bballer that is one of those rare fans of both teams (Lakers and Celtics).

As long as the Heat are exposed, I don’t care which team is responsible.

One question for Jeff (the real one) thogh:

Regarding your quote, “LA remembers that in the matchup of titles for each team recently, they have 3 LA has 2.” – I don’t get it. LA has 5 titles in the last 11 years, Boston one in 24.

In the modern era (post 1977), it’s LA 10, Boston 4, and head to head is 3-3!

That brings up a very interesting point. I wonder how many Celtic fans were actually alive during the Celtic-Laker rivalry in the 80s? LA has 5 championship titles in the last 11 seasons, been in the finals 7 of those seasons and have faced the Celtics twice. The only thing the Celtics have done is won in 2008. Where have you been since the 80s? Most Celtics fans go on and on about a winning tradition but that tradition took a 24 year hiatus while LA has continued to be contenders every decade, in the ultra-competitive West I might add.

The point of the Celts not winning a Championship for 24 years is great! And now their going to win 3 in a row? With their line-up? The same guys who labored up & down the court in Game 7 of the Finals last year? LMAO!

They may get into the Playoffs because the Eastern Conference is incredibly Weak. In fact I have the Bulls fininishing ahead of the Celts. I hope the rivalrey is back. But is it fair to beat up on Senior Citizens?

Ten reason why the Celtics will win the championship……Really, Let me ask you a few questions and why they won’t win next season or ever again.

1, Age, can’t be underestimated, you just can’t replace youth. No matter how much motivation, experience desire you may have the body will not respond with injuries.

    2. Shaq, will destroy that locker room, his EGO and lack team chemistry will divide the players and create a very unhealthy environment.

    3. Salery Cap, After they lose in the ECF. They’ll try and dump theses old has been players that are preparing for that dirt nap(both O’neal) Paula, the bald headed lunatic and find that there are no takers.

All you Seltic fans are a joke needing to believe in something or someone get a LIFE, and quit haten on the CHAMPIONSHIP LAKERS.

“… when healthy, they are the best team…”

Is “Tommy King” some sort of pseudonym for Doc Rivers?

2008: Bynum and Ariza both hurt for 98% of the series.

2010: Perkins hurt for one game; Bynum played on one leg for the entire series; and Bryant (the best player on the court/in the world) had an arthritic finger amongst a plethora of injuries.

Try to hide your ignorance, Mr. King. It makes for bad reading.

I’m sure that the people who have posted above only re-affirm this notion.

I’m a Lakers fan and I’ve got to criticize my fellow Lakers fans posting here. They seem to need to be reminded that the Lakers squeezed by to get a championship last year by only 4 points. Just a couple of bad plays and we would be the ones getting ridiculed by Celtics fans.

After 2008, I held a deep grudge in my heart for the current Celtics team after they humiliated the Lakers. After the 2010 season was about half way finished, all the sports pundits wrote them off as if they were a team of 50-year olds. I was not so quick to judge and the C’s proved me right. When I knew they were not messing around is when they humiliated Lebron James and forced him to basically give up (I have a feeling his mind was already in Miami at that time). I was pretty confident the Lakers would be able to beat the C’s in 6. But I underestimated them.

That series was grueling and I have to give the C’s a whole lot of credit to take the Lakers to within four points of a championship. Both teams were visibly exhausted by the end of Game 7. The Lakers barely squeaked by mostly due to rebounding and anyone who is going to write off the C’s again needs to stop listening to the Lebron-worshiping media.

Boston has to make it past Miami and Orlando to make it to the finals. Once there they’re going to have the face the Lakers.

They have their work cut out for them, especially since on Paper the Lake show will be better than ever this year.

Miami will win the championship. Because they are better stronger in the offense and defense. Also they play a clean game compared to the Celtics who were a big bully in the playoffs with Miami. Especially Celtics KG who is too cheap to behave like a thug. and bully with a young player from Miami which led to a fight.

whatever, I’d say since they made the finals last year, might tell you not to count them out. nor either the magic or heat, (but the heat didnt get Fisher so they probably wont win. lol.
I’d say you cant count the Thunder out either. or maybe even the Lakers. lol.

Bert, all teams have bandwagoneers. since they come out only when they win. The Lakers probably have the most, because they have won the most recently. I’ve watched them since 1972 through good and bad, although, not too many bad years. and I’ll never understand the people that call them fakers. NO,, those are Real Titles. Real Recent Titles.

But Your Right, The only Real Championship that matters is Who Is.. and next Year could be anyone. but I’d still say probably
    Lakers
    Thunder
    magic
    celtics
    Heat
and a few others. it Probably wont be the TIMBERS. McHale sold that team out so bad it will take years to recover. :p

The only thing the celtics have to remember is the lakers canny way of removing a player from the game via spreading there legs in a defensive stance to trip up a player (derrick Fisher) famous for that move, or holding a running defensive stance and turning your body so the elbow or shoulder is what the offensive player runs into (Derrick Fisher) move again Look for (Ron Artest ) to adapt these moves as well, Phil Jackson is a great coach and I’m sure He dose not have to say much to activate these moves with in the team all he has to tell them is , ( Is this the reason or is he the reason were going to loose this game or series, In my minds eye the team that captivates these tricks from the lakers will win the championship , Go Celtics

Yo, Big Baby and Shaq can’t fit on the court at the same time, Tommy.

You’re killing me saying that Shaq will help Baby’s post game?? Dude, all Shaq is gonna do is stand in one spot and take up space. He doesn’t play D, he doesn’t rebound anymore, Shaq is nothing but a personality now. Don’t get me started on Jermaine, did you see his number’s last year? He DEFINITELY doesn’t rebound anymore and he’s barely healthy.
Why don’t the C’s just all come out on Wheelchairs next year? Good luck with Delonte West, he might bring his Gat collection to the arena and start popping off people after he forgets to take his medicine…

I can’t stop laughing, honestly you guys are better off cutting Shaq before the season somehow. Then you will have a legit chance, but until then good luck!

Let me explain to you why I think Shaq will help Big Baby’s game. First of all, I think you are underestimating Shaq’s presence. Yes, as you say, Shaq is pretty much going to stand in one spot and take up space, but he is still one of the strongest players in the league and capable of finishing around the hoop. And he is still a solid rebounder, averaging 6.7 rebounds in under 24 mpg, while JO averaged 7 rebounds in 28 mpg. But back to how he’ll help Big Baby. Big Baby is not a post player. He tried last season to play under the hoop because Raheed Wallace was playing behind the arc so frequently. BB struggled to gets shots off against taller, more athletic defenders. BB shot just 44% last season, compared to 49% in the 2009 playoffs when he filled in for Garnett. BB’s field goal % spiked so much because he was playing on the perimeter, playing in the pick-and-roll and taking defenders away from the basket. This season, with Shaq planted under the hoop, BB will once again play on the perimeter, taking defenders away from the basket.

I am a portland fan. So I was pretty upset tht we let go of Blake and Outlaw. With that said, I can understand how LA will benefit from him and Ratliff. Technically, they are still the champs so they are the team to beat. And with these additions, they are almost unstoppable. Mind you, I am a Laker hater. But, I am not blind. I think that Miami will do awsome this season. It will come down to Miami or Bos in the East. In my opinion, Boston’s experience will come out on top. I personally feel it will be Bos and LA again. I’m happy for it too. The NBA needs this rivalry. The story will be Kobe vs Shaq. At that point it can go either way. On paper I am thinking that LA will win cause of their better additions compared to Boston. BUT, I am also the same person that tld all of my friends, U cannot sleep on Boston!!! These guys prove time and again old or not, how hungry they are. And they play with the same intesity as LA. Both Great teams , although I am not a fan, lol. LA did not win by that much last year. It wasn’t a blow out. I have LA friends still wipin tha sweat off their foreheads. And they all thank Artest and Bynum for stepping up. So I don’t care about the fan egos and Rings. I am callin it how I see it. These two are curently the best teams, unless another team can prove me wrong. BTW, LA don’t sleep on POR or OKC. (had to throw that in there, lol) It hasn’t even been a full year yet and the season is about to start. So I think both teams are active and ready. Besides Miami doesn’t have the chemistry LA and BOS has, Yet. Season wins are great, and Neccesary. But, it comes down to the Finals. GO LA AND BOS and Bringin Fun back to the NBA !!!!!!!!!!!! (and if Portland stays healthy, Go Portland Rip City!!!!!!!)

    Tommy King,
I like how you acknowledge and compare the acquisitions of Shaq and Ratliff, but you don’t even mention the Lakers adding Blake and Barnes. You just talk about what you want to talk about and are avoiding what every post above is telling you.

Even if you say the Celtics were just as good as the Lakers last year, we added BLAKE, BARNES, AND RATLIFF. Celtics add Shaq. I know it is hard for you Celtic fans to apply any basketball knowledge, but just try to understand that.

I’m not sure where you read that I compared the acquisitions of Shaq and Ratliff, because I haven’t. But the Celtics undoubtedly had a better offseason than the La Lakers. I don’t understand all these Laker fans who are so ecstatic about Matt Barnes, Steve Blake, and Theo Ratliff. Theo Ratliff hasn’t been viable in the NBA for about five seasons, and does not compare as a basketball player to Shaq. I’m not even going to argue that point. Blake is a solid backup point guard, but averages 7.5 ppg for his career and hes a CAREER 41% shooter. Not from 3′s, from the field. That is absolutely atrocious. Compare that to Delonte West who is a career 10 ppg scorer, shooting 45% from the field. West is also a far superior defender, and a proven playoff guy. That leaves Matt Barnes who is an above-average defender, but not much of a scorer (7.3 career, 8.8 last season). Take into account the sizeable upgrade from Ratliff to Shaq, and Blake to West, and the neglibible upgrade from Marquie Daniels, or Von Wafer, to Matt Barnes, and its pretty obvious that–on paper–the Celtics had a better offseason than the lakers. Especially when you throw in Jermaine O’Neal.

Don’t forget, Shaq isn’t the only player the Celtics added. They also added Jermaine O’Neal, Delonte West, Von Wafer and Avery Bradley. The Lakers weren’t the only team that had a nice offseason.

Joey, my reference to the ultra competitive West was the decades of 80s, 90s, and 2000s as a whole. The Lakers have been contenders in every decade since their back to back titles in the 80s, with the exception of the few years they didn’t make the playoffs in the mid 2000s. You mentioned the Heat, Celtics, Magic, Hawks, and Bulls but that is how it stands right now. You can make the playoffs in the East with a losing record. Winning 50 games in the West and you’ll be home for the playoffs. There are only a few teams in the West who can compete with LA (OKC, Portland and maybe Dallas and San Antonio) and OKC and Portland have the best chance to win a 7 game series. But because LA dominants the entire Western Conference every year that means a game 7 will be in Staples where they dominant in the playoffs. The West isn’t dominate right now but the overall winning percentage is better and to get into the playoffs is much harder in the West than in the East. Remember OKC won 50 games last season and was an 8th seed and there was only a 8 game difference between #8 and #2 seeds I believe.

And by the way, how can you Celtic fans actually think adding a troubled Delonte West and Shaq is a better off-season than LA bringing back Shannon Brown, adding Blake and Matt Barnes? What those guys mean to LA is that Kobe will play less minutes throughout the season and will be fresh come playoff time. Adding Blake and bringing back Brown means Fisher defensive liabilities will not be showcased since his minutes will be reduced. And bringing in Matt Barnes gives the second unit another perimeter defender. The goal for LA in the off season was to get better with the second unit to limit the starters minutes, making the more available when the playoffs start. What in the world is Delonte West going to bring to Boston? Keep in mind when Lebron left Cleveland they didn’t think to much of West to try to keep him. The only team LA has to be concerned with is OKC because of the point guard matchup and youth, Portland because of their perimeter scoring and the fact they play in Portland, and Miami because of adding 3 superstars on one roster. I will also throw in the Magic because they have the best center in the league. Boston will win some games but will not make it out of the East.

These same fans are the ones who cried bullshit to the Lakers fans when the Lakers didn’t have Andrew Bynum and a weakened Trevor Ariza in 2008 along with getting screwed over by the refs. Get a life you little hypocrites. Absolutely pathetic.

I think Boston gets by the Heat, but only if they’re injury free.

Phil has been saying it’s his last year as head coach for the past few seasons now–that provides no motivation. And yes Kobe is motivated, but his teammates may be content with back-to-back championships. After so much success, it’s only human nature to slack just a little. The Celtics are motivated as a TEAM, that’s powerful.

That’s funny. The NBA seems to recognize them. Different state, same team. Doesn’t matter. Same franchise. Same players.

I think you have your panties in a bunch because you’re bitter and angry. Of course you’ll hold onto anything that makes it seem like we’re not deserving of all those titles. You can just go cry in the corner, because doesn’t matter what you say. We have sweet 16 and have every chance of matching your 17.

You lost last year. Deal with it. We were the better team. You couldn’t pull it out in the end. You lost. We won. Sweet retribution for ’08 when you creamed us. See? Laker fan, not afraid to admit your ’08 team deserved it. But not 2010. And, in my opinion, not in 2010.

Lakers all day, every day baby. PnG.

if rondo were to develop a 3 point shooting game, he would be unstoppable and the lakers would have no chance. look how effective Rondo is without taking a three. He is so fast that other guards can only play off him. If he had better perimeter accuracy the other gaurds would have to play closer and Rondo could use that to drive the lane and draw double/triple teams. With his passing ability, if he could draw those types of double teams the Celtics could cruise to a championship. Rondo might be the fastest guard in the NBA. He takes smart shots but his 3 point shooting is a nonfactor.

They got one chance in 24 years and took it and (2008) it may take another 24 for them to see the finals again. With Miami the new sheriff in town and chicago on the rise, They are simply done and out.

Not only that, LA was by far the agreessor in game 7 with rebounding and get to the rim. The ref card can be played by any fan for any team on any given game.
