Rajon Rondo’s new commercial, an NBA 2k11 trailer, is a funny one

I don’t know what’s better: Derrick Rose carefully adding icing to a cake or Josh Smith advising Michael Jordan, “Can’t eat sushi in Utah, brotha.” I would discuss further, but I’m on the phone with my moms.

By the way (“hold on a damn second, moms!”), I just came across a piece on David Berri’s blog comparing Rondo to the guards who made Team USA (I know, I know, I can’t let it go): “Rajon Rondo was clearly the most productive player in this group,” the author, Ben Gulker, wrote, “and frankly, it wasn’t close.”

That productivity was in the NBA, not the international game, but still. Gulker continued to explain why Rondo would have been a great fit for the team. Read it, it’s interesting. You know, as long as you still care about Rondo’s mysterious departure from the national team. Or if you just want to read about how Rondo produced far more wins than Chauncey Billups, Derrick Rose or any other guard who made Team USA’s roster.

    Fun Video/Commercial.

Yeah. Don’t worry about Team USA. We all feel that way a little.

Also; stop saying Rondo wasn’t good for Fiba.

Keep in mind, that writers right about Rondo belonging.

Why? Though the USA won and we should congratulate them on that. None of the Team USA guards out side of Gordon (and sometimes Billips) could should the three pointer consistently (Billips & Curry) or at all (Rose and Westbrook).

Rose was abysmal many times and shot 24% from three and averaged 7 points; most during garbage time.

Curry. The vaunted three point shooter was wildly inconsistent with his three, played a poor point guard position and look scared. Westbrook’s three point shooting was not existent as well. But he made up for it with his blazing quickness and size driving to the basket.

So what did we learn. Team USA might as well had Rondo, cause the guys that Coach K kept to shoot and keep the defenses honest supposedly (Curry, Rose and Westbrook); couldn’t hit three points shots anyway. And of course the team received barely any true point guard play to boot, from those three non-shooters. Now that’s something Rondo could of brought in spades to Team USA. Great Point Guard Play!

Oh well. Let’s look forward to the upcoming season. And, let’s hope Rondo and doc decide for him to increase his scoring average by 2-4 points and work on his free throw shooting.
