Shaq misses practice (again); questionable for tomorrow

ESPN’s Chris Forsberg reports Shaq did not practice today.

Shaquille O’Neal (calf) did not participate in the session and spent most of his morning in the weight room. He remains questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Knicks. O’Neal has missed the last two games due to lingering soreness from a collision with Amare Stoudemire the first time the Celtics and Knicks met in Boston this season in late October.

At what point do we start worrying about Shaq’s conditioning? He didn’t come into camp in perfect shape, but at least he wasn’t a blimp. Shaq seems like the type of person who gains weight (and gets out of shape) pretty easily. What does a week without practices and/or games do to him? What if it becomes two weeks? Or three?

Shaq’s been an unexpectedly big hit in Boston. Let’s hope he’s getting some cardio work in while he sits out practices.

    Jay:

As a former fat kid on the youth recreational basketball team, I can vouch for Shaq that he will find the hunger to get his fat ass up and down the court even if he is thinking of his next pizza more than winning.

Fat people today are capable of amazing things; in fact, I see a lot of fat people running marathons (they look like marshmallow people, the kind you made with toothpicks at Granny’s house). Even Oprah ran a marathon (thank God for sports bras)

In all seriousness, Shaq will survive his 20 minutes per game, but he’d better start worrying about his heart in his soon-to-be retirement years.

Thanks for all the great work on your website, Jay. You and your brother rock. Happy holidays. I hope LeBron gets VD from so ho on his next road trip. And please note that the Celtics still have one more championship title than the Lakers, and one less rape charge.

    Celtics Fan in LA.

Good lord. The thought of Oprah running a marathon. And thanks for the kind words, sir. I really appreciate them.

Is this the ‘Happy Holidays’ wish list or card? If so, you also have my vote and thanks for allowing me to share, vent, and even make some people agree once in awhile. Happy holidays CT! Maybe Santa will bring the Celtics everything they’re missing (like rebounding desire) so you all won’t have to listen to my vents after Xmas??? Great job, Jay & Tommy!!! Go Cs…

P.S. Shaq will be fine. Trust me, he wants to be out there and normally would (playoffs for sure) but his resting is good. Same should be happening for RR though. Go Cs…

I do not agree with this particular post. However, I did researched with Bing and I have found out that you are right and I had been thinking in the wrong way. Keep on creating high quality material like this.
