I wish the team would suspend NR for a couple of weeks or send him to the D league. What’s up with Davis’ leg injury. Just read about it and guess I didn’t know about it during the ESPN telecast. Go Cs…
Nate may be shooting like crap, but he put some actual D on Nash, and that’s more than Rondo did.
Re. Garnett’s alleged ‘jewel shot’: did it even happen? Try, next time you watch the video, to edit out, in your mind, Frye’s big Stanislavsky moment. Now, does it really look like anything more than incidental contact? No, it doesn’t. That doesn’t mean there was no ‘ball shot’, but it’s not actually obvious that there was one. What IS perfectly obvious is that Frye is a poor thespian. He does not appear to have a future career on the stage or even in slapstick.
But that Pietrus guy appears to have a potential for the boxing ring, or UFC, or something. Anyone who wants to get worked up over a nasty shot should get worked up over the one he gave Garnett. He appeared to go after Garnett’s head with extreme malice, and that was a blow that really could have hurt Garnett badly.
We need to not play along with the growing tendency around the NBA to demonize Garnett. Let’s not be such homers that we portray Garnett as Mr. PuppyHugs, but we need to oppose the growing demonization of him. Think about it: would Pietrus have given Garnett that extremely dangerous arm-shiv to the head if Garnett weren’t increasingly viewed as a marked man around the NBA, as the league bad guy? Maybe Garnett brings some of that on himself with his Tuff Guy antics, his Rodman-with-an-Edge act, but a lot of it is hype, and it could be dangerous hype.
@Nate…then he should be benched until he can think properly. Casting that 3 with a 3on 2 killed the Celtic momentum and ended any chance of a potential win. As Walton said…”one of the worst shots in Celtic history”…Go Cs…
