Delonte West will miss tonight’s game; no further damage on wrist
Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said reserve guard Delonte West would sit out Wednesday’s pre-All-Star finale against the New Jersey Nets and instead target the start of a four-game west coast road trip coming out of the break for his return to game action after West tweaked his fractured right wrist at practice Tuesday.
“He just wasn’t ready,” said Rivers. “He was injured [Tuesday] in practice — just a freak injury, unfortunately for him. There’s no other damage, but it just set him back.”…
“There’s no timetable, but hopefully Golden State,” Rivers said of a potential return on the first game after the break. “If not, the next game, and we’ll just go game by game.”
Paul Pierce and Nate Robinson, who both injured themselves recently, feel better and are fine to play tonight.
