Kendrick Perkins strains MCL

I interrupt the regularly scheduled trade rumors to bring you news that will, quite appropriately, induce a scowl. Kendrick Perkins, who banged his knee yesterday and was diagnosed with a bruised knee, actually suffered a strained MCL. The injury is to Perk’s left knee, or, in other words, the one that had been his healthy knee.
According to CSNNE’s Jessica Camerato, Perkins is listed as day-to-day. But he is now expected to miss at least the remainder of Boston’s Western Conference road trip, which concludes Monday after games in Denver, Los Angeles (Clippers) and Utah.
The Celtics could be considering a trade of Semih Erden, whose size and potential intrigues teams such as the Cavaliers (who could offer Anthony Parker in return). But Perk’s injury could cause the Celtics to lean towards keeping the Turk. Though Perk is listed as day-to-day, this injury only highlights the fragile nature of Boston’s roster, and their need to hold on to any and all capable big men.
Get well soon, Perk. May your day-to-day listing be true.

This team has struggled through so much injury adversity. It just strains credulity at this point.

Allow me to grab an obscure silver lining, from this injury. if Perk can’t stay 100% for the rest of the season maybe the Celtics can get him on a discount one year deal next season while clearing cap space to lure Dwight Howard in 2012. Get healthy Perk.

calm down, folks. it’s a strain. he’s day to day. he’ll be fine by the playoffs.
the injuries are going to be a blessing in disguise. better it happens now. by the time the playoffs come, they’ll be well rested, especially shaq, who’s becoming like a secret weapon that we can pull out for later.
i hope they don’t trade erden. maybe perk being hurt will prevent that from happening. another blessing in disguise. erden could have a great future with this team.

These injuries are too much…. it’s gonna cost us the one seed and possibly the two… which means at bulls and at heat. I’m losing sleep, you don’t understand.. I’m a sick man, all I think about is this team and it’s a very frustrating year. The whole season without our full roster? That’s insane! I’m over reacting but I just can’t take it anymore.

frank, take some tranquilizers, man. it’s going to be okay. even at the 3 seed should that happen. after all, the c’s can win on the road in the playoffs; they proved that last year. so long as we have a better record than the lakers. should we get that rematch, game 7 needs to be in boston.
sometimes it’s a jinx to be the 1 seed. ask cleveland last year. if they can get healthy for the playoffs, they are the team to be beaten. hopefully someone can knock chicago out so the c’s dont have to face them. they are going to give us the biggest problems.
have faith. the leprechaun is waiting to pop out from that 4-leaf clover and start sprinkling some of his magic dust on the c’s bench.
and please everyone, please tell me that sheed is keeping his fat lazy ass in retirement.
