   What makes the Celtics great is cohesion, chemistry, the many years they have been playing together, and tough, hard-nosed defense.

   No, wait, hold that … ok, what makes the Celtics great is having Jeff Green to give us versatility/more firepower and Nenad Krstic to give us spacing.

   On the subject of Krstic and his penchant for perimeter shooting, doesn’t the argument FOR Krstic sound an awful lot like the argument AGAINST Sheed?

   Good luck, Perk. Maybe we’ll see you back in Boston some day. If Delonte and Green can make it back, why not Perkins?

   Here’s a way to think about how the loss of Perkins is going to reverberate through the team: how is the way Rondo plays defense going to be affected? He’s not going to be able to lose his man while he strays into passing lanes, or while he gambles on making steals , as much, because there is no defensive stopper behind him. He’ll have to stay between his guy and the basket more. A lot of things will have to change for the Cs, especially on defense.

   Basically, we can think of next week or two as a mini-preseason, as this team reconfigures on the fly.
