Celtics hold on, defeat Warriors 107-103

More in-depth analysis will come in the morning, due to the fact that I still have not watched the game. I know, I know, I’m a Celtics blogger who missed a Celtics game. I suck. But I actually do have to earn money, somehow, and thus I covered the Springfield Armor tonight rather than watch Jeff Green’s finest moments as a Celtic.
For those of you wondering (*nobody raises a hand*) the Armor lost, 114-79, and Dee Brown handled it like most coaches handle a seventh straight loss — by closing off the locker room to reporters for half an hour, then calling his team’s play “a f—ing piss-poor effort”, then saying no Knute Rockne speech could have helped matters, then saying his players should give their checks back if they don’t want to play. Ouch.
Of course, you don’t care. You care about the Celtics. And they won, barely, while withstanding Monta Ellis’ 41 points. Ray Allen (as Ray Allen tends to do) shot the lights out, Paul Pierce does what he does best (score, a lot) and Green, as I mentioned earlier, was supposedly phenomenal (Troy Murphy? Not so phenomenal).
I’ll tell you more tomorrow, after I actually watch the game, but for now, revel in the new-look Celtics’ fourth straight win.

Hopefully, after watching the game, you’ll address the severe lack of rebounding by the Celtic gurards and Green (28 mins and only 1 reb (a big one though). RR played 43 mins and had ZERO rebs; RA 39 mins and had 3 (one a big one). That’s 82 minutes of play and 3 rebs by the starting guards. The GS starting guards had 9 rebs. Toss in Bradley’s 1 reb (8 mins) and VW’s 0 in 5 mins and the grand total is 4 rebs in 95 mins. That equals 1 reb per half by a guard. PATHETIC. So instead of RR showboating with the fancy passes how about he get a f’in rebound? Normally, he is great at this and averages roughly 5 per game. But the Cs gave up 15 offensive boards and were out rebounded by 12. They went from playing hard to playing like crap and it almost cost them. Otherwise, I love the instant offense JG brings from the bench. The bench had 20 pts at the half and when has that ever happened this season. And let’s please give TM a few games before bagging on him. Hope VW is OK. Whew…almost blew it. Go Cs…

Yes, Green looked so great, I’m starting to lean toward agreeing with the trade; and if Von Wafer can come off the bench like that more often (before straining his calf) this bench can produce.
I agree completely on the rebounding. a no-brainer. And James, I hope you are right about Murphy; he has a few coats of rust on him.
Will this team have time to gel, especially defensively? That is the big question.

Chris…well, with 22 games left I should hope that’s enough time to get these guys playing great team defense, rebounding better, and getting the injured players back and ready for the playoff run. Murphy will be fine once he has his legs back. I think you’ll start seeing marked improvement week by week. It’s like he’s just now in training camp but 10 games should have him producing more consistently. It’s just nice having some real fire power off the bench now. Go Cs…

I’m excited that Green and Rondo finally seem to have gotten some chemistry going
