Delonte West listed as day-to-day

West is being listed as day-to-day after spraining his right ankle Monday in Washington. The fact it’s the same ankle he hurt in February makes this a bit more of a concern, but West is insisting he’ll be all right.
Danny Ainge admitted the health of West and Shaq is a concern, but not his biggest.
“My concerns going into the playoffs are still how well our big four are going to play,” Ainge said. “No. 2 is the health of everyone, from Shaquille and Delonte (West) to everyone. But I think that when KG (Kevin Garnett) and Ray (Allen) and Paul (Pierce) and (Rajon) Rondo play well, we win. When three out of the four play well, we win.”
Nobody has as much riding on this postseason as Ainge does. If the Celtics fall before reaching the Finals, Ainge should move out West, change his phone number and share his new address with nobody. But if they can somehow piece this broken puzzle back together, he’s redeemed.

I think you are very easy on Danny. His Cs need to win a championship or else he should go. Remember, he’s the one who chose to roll the dice in an indefensibly reckless way, with The Trade. The irony of this situation (as I see it) is that, for the Cs to win a championship, there is going to have to be some honesty-based clearing of the air about how awful The Trade was. In other words, by proving Ainge right, the guys will be proving him wrong, or vice versa, depending on how you look at it. This team needs to clear the air and come back together, and that has to start with a brutally frank discussion. Those who have been particularly unhappy (presumably Rondo in particular) should NOT be blamed for their legitimate feelings of upset. We need to remember that basketball is a game of emotion. Ever since the trade, folks have tried to deny this, but it’s just a fundamental reality, and for no team more than this team. Folks, starting with Doc, who have reached for every possible lame way to argue that what Ainge did was fine, who have denied reality, denied that the team had the rug pulled out from under it, need to stop that, now. This is the last chance for folks to get real and clear the air, so that everyone can recommit to the cause, which is to win one more championship for 4 of the best players ever assembled on one team …

I think clearing the air will do just fine..Maybe even Ainge promising to treat everyone (including Perk) to a vacation in an expensive resort island after basketball season might work lol.. How about Perk calling to tell everyone to just move on, that would not be a bad idea either. Perk seems to have moved on pretty well though and am just happy for him… Jay King I too think you are too easy on Danny.. He needs to make some kind of a statement, public statement but again if he had great leadership professors in college then he knows that leaders need not publicly apologize for their mistakes if they want to still remain respected and i have a good feeling BYU does a great job of teaching such so..expect no apology from Danny anytime soon..
I think Danny should move west anyway regardless of what happens..Doc should follow right behind him

This team, which was assembled by DA, has won one championship, had another possible run derailed by KG’s injury, lost one last year because of KP’s injury (but more so the Laker refs over the last 3 games) and was planned for a shelf life of two yrs (this season and next) before a major rebuild would be necessary. So all the haters of ‘the trade’ now want DA gone??? Are you f’in out of your minds??? If anyone needs to go it’s Doc and his milquetoast coaching style which is fortified by a lack of discipline and any semblance of anger when players get off script. In other words, have you ever seen him bench any of the core 4 players for idiotic play? Thought so, because it has never happened. Throwing DA under the bus because he traded KP, thereby improving the most glaring weakness this season – a non-offensive producing bench, doesn’t mean that a championship was automatic if KP had stayed. KP isn’t exactly lighting up the stat sheet in OKC and he too is fragile and subject to re-injury because of all the weight he carries on his knees. DA doesn’t need to apologize for anything or “clear the air” and he certainly should never, ever, ever do so in public or in any other forum where that info could leak out and would then be jumped on and the team’s collective nuts eviscerated by all the focus on admitting such. Who the hell goes into war saying they made a mistake??? Please, once and for all, get over the trade and mentioning KP in every single post including those that have nothing to do with the center position. This team is getting ready to win banner #18 and hopefully #19 next season. I choose to support them, DA, and even Doc because I truly believe they are better positioned than last year to win it all. Go Cs…
