Rondo, West to get MRIs; Rivers expects both will play in Game 4

Delonte West (shoulder) and Rajon Rondo (elbow) both will get MRI’s today, but Doc Rivers believes the two guards will be available for Monday’s Game 4.
“I’m optimistic that (Delonte and Rondo) are going to play,” Rivers said. “Tomorrow… it’s Game 4 and we have to win.”

I don’t know if either player will play tomorrow. I hope both will, and that they’ll find a way to play well. But whatever happens, the key to the Celtics chances is that they need to continue to pound the ball INSIDE aggressively. Without a doubt, the Heat will play tougher defense on Monday than they did last night. The Celtics have to be ready and willing to challenge that defense, and to continue to do so even if things don’t go their way all the time. If we are going to lose, let’s at least not lose by playing soft basketball.

A view of Rondo that might surprise, from Jermaine:
“The return of Rondo solidified O’Neal’s already high opinion of the guard.
“The first thing I noticed was his toughness when I got here. His maturity, and his leadership,” the center said. “I don’t even know what the injury is, but most guys would have just gotten ready for Game 4. He’s a guy who is very impressive in the way he controls our team. All I heard was he was a very quiet guy, but it’s been the total opposite. When I got here he was very vocal in the locker room, very vocal on the court. He has a strong opinion about what this team and players should be doing. To see him come back gave us that energy. We had a couple of things that really gave us that boost when Miami was making that run, and him coming out of our locker room after we thought he was gone for game, it was like, OK, we have to kick it into the next gear.”"

If Rondo really is that vocal, I hope he’s being vocal that the Cs need to continue to take the game to the Heat.

I read your blogs all the time but never comment. I have to comment on this game, are you serious!? Rondo’s performance was a sight for the ages. Me being a “Rondo Hater,” I have nothing but the utmost respect for him now. Even if we lose the series or even if we lost that game, we have to admire Rondo and the Celtic’s fight. “This is it, all in,” as Garnett said. Go Celts

That’s a great quote, Paul, because it contradicts a lot of what we’ve heard about Rondo over the years.
