Rajon Rondo will play in Game 4, says Carlos Arroyo

Rajon Rondo is still officially a game-time decision tonight. But the Celtics guard participated in shootaround and Carlos Arroyo said he should play tonight. (CSNNE)

“He’s ready to go,” said Arroyo, who admitted that Rondo is still bothered by his elbow. “He’s a warrior. He demonstrated that last game. We were all surprised the fact that he came back after that injury. I know he’s ready. He wants to play. He wants to win.”

The lesson, as always: It’s going to take more than the grossest elbow injury since Andrew Bogut to keep Rondo out of the NBA playoffs.

What will Rondo and the Celtics come with tonight? I’m certain the Heat will be playing like madmen. Will the Celtics play like champions? Sunday night already etched this season into Celtics history. That’s a done deal. But what ending will we write for the story?

I know one thing for sure: whatever else the Celtics do, they need to take it to the Heat aggressively, and they need to attack the paint.

I love Rondo’s guts, but I hope they activate Arroyo tonight. He and West may have to carry the load should Rondo be slowed by the injury. I expect the Heat to attack Rondo on both ends of the floor.
