Game Thread: Bulls-Heat
Lebron James is happy Cleveland got the first pick, but isn’t positive they’ll find a franchise player. Dan Gilbert’s just as vindictive as ever; he hopes Lebron goes down in a sea of flames in round two. Derrick Rose and Tom Thibodeau look like a more formidable duo than LeWyane Jade. And Dwyane Wade’s son can’t stop teasing his father about Taj Gibson’s dunk. It’s Chicago-Miami, Game 2.
I’ve got the Heat tonight, even after they looked completely overmatched in Game 1. Tough to stop a two-headed monster two games in a row.
Have at it in the comment section, folks.

James, I think Davis should get a fairly minimal deal.
And you know, it amazes me that you all are doing that ‘let the past be the past’ now. Ok, how about forgetting Davis’ screwups and pay him big money? Wait, suddenly not willing to let the past be the past?

What? RR being injured made it HARDER to attack, NOT impossible.
And you damn well know that. Why do you say stuff that you know is bull?
But yeah, Rondo should be shooting like crazy this summer.

paul…I’ve been very consistent in my comments about Davis and what he deserves. I don’t think he deserves a multi-year deal based on his play falling off this season (for whatever reason). As far as RR is concerned check the banner up top and then you tell me that RR could attack as he normally does. His wing is hanging and he kept getting hit every-time he did anything. Cheap-shots to tweek him. Go Cs…

Watching Rose shred the Heat defense is so frustrating, because I think Rondo was figuring out how to do that when Wade took him down.

I hear you about Rondo and the cheap shots. The whole take down was the cheapest shot I’ve ever seen. So that made it harder to attack, but attacking the basket was still the key.

As much as I hate to, I have to give the Heat credit that it’s their D that is winning for them. They really are choking good teams to death with their D.

Bulls lose rebounding, miss too many fts and get away from team ball and therefore blow an opportunity. Not smart of them. And yes, paul the Cs offense should be push the ball on every possession and if RR walks it up twice then Doc should sit his ass for 5 minutes each time. Go Cs…

Rondeezy: They didn’t argue, which suprised me a lot. Kudos to you guys.
Now i have a debate that may intrest James and Paul, as you guys brought up Rondo’s poor shooing:
I think Rondo is a good jump shooter. Hold the “your crazy” comments for a second and let me explain my reasoning.
Doc is a fairly knowledgable coach, we can all agree on that for the most part. So, if he knows that players defending Rondo will sag off of him like he has the plauge, why does he tell Rondo to take all of his open jump shots;because doc knows Rondo is a good shooter.
Have you guys ever heard of what some people(and i want to say a phyc. doctor told him) say about why Josh Smith sucks at free throws? Because it’s a mental thing. He (claims) is a good free throw shooter, but when he is in front of a few million people(if it was on tv for example) he can’t seem to make it consistenally. Because for whatever reason, it bothers him. Wether it’s the pressure or whatever itis. That’s why he claims he will never be a great free throw shooter.
If i haven’t lost you yet, back to Rondo. Think with the same logic in Josh Smiths case. Maybe Rondo is actually a decent free throw shooter and jump shooter, but he can’t preform like that in front of millions of people. I think it makes complete sense. In theroy of course.
Your thoughts James and Paul? And others of course, but i was trying to figure out something for these to to debate, as Paul recomended.

And Rondo doesn’t do all of the shooting you two are telling him to do because he knows no matter if he shoots a few million shots every day, he will never improve dramatically. Because it’s all in his head.
I’m a decent jump shooter myself, but when i get on the court, i can’t make a damn jump shot. Which, is what lead me to this…..theroy.

Nick…good question. I’ll address it in tomorrow’s game thread with Dallas/OKC. It’ll give me sometime to think about it. Go Cs…

rondo’s not a GOOD jumpshooter, but hes a way better jumpshooter than he appears. thats why some nights he’s money and some nights he cant make any to save his life. watch last years HORSE against durant he made a couple 3′s and he was money

Folks who want to blame Perkins for Nowitski going off, as silly as that is on the face of it, should look at Ibaka. Ibaka has been ineffective against both Randolph and Nowitski. On the other hand, when refs won’t allow a team to D-up on a guy, it’s hard to overcome that.
Fascinating too how folks want to forget all about The Trade now that the season is over. Remember, when The Trade happened, everyone said to shut up about it until the season was over, because then we’d know if it worked or not?
Just like politics this is…
